The 1996 Cup of Russia was the Cup of Russia competition of the 1996–97 figure skating season. It was the sixth event of six of the 1996–97 ISU Champions Series. Elite senior-level figure skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing.
In 1996, the Cup of Russia was held in Saint Petersburg from 12 to 15 December. Skaters who placed high enough in this competition earned points towards competing in the 1996–97 Champions Series Final.
