1Password is a password manager developed by AgileBits Inc. It provides a place for users to store various passwords, software licenses, and other sensitive information in a virtual vault that is locked with a PBKDF2-guarded[7] master password.

Password file syncing

1Password can store password files locally and never syncs with remote servers. The files can also be synchronized through Dropbox[8] (all platforms), local Wi-Fi,[9] and iCloud[10] (local Wi-Fi and iCloud sync are only available on the Mac and iOS).[11][12]

Browser Extensions

1Password integrates with all popular browsers including Brave, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera.[13] The extension allows you to fill logins automatically, and remember logins for new websites that don't already have a password saved. The browser extension can generate random passwords for new websites.[14] To use browser extensions, you must have administrative rights on the computer you're using. This has been an issue with users on a PC assigned by a workplace without admin rights. To address this issue, 1Password offers a family plan for a monthly subscription fee that allows web access to your usernames and passwords which can be copied and pasted into login screens.[15]
