2013 Webby Awards

The 17th annual Webby Awards for 2013 was at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on May 22, 2013 and hosted by comedian Patton Oswalt.[1][2] The awards ceremony was streamed live in at www.webbyawards.com.

The Lifetime achievement award was presented to the inventor of the GIF file format, Steve Wilhite.[3] The viral Australian public service campaign Dumb Ways to Die led the other nominees for total number of awards received,[2] and The Onion achieved a record 19th Webby.[2][4]
