The 2015 Malaysian motorcycle Grand Prix was the seventeenth round of the 2015 MotoGP season. It was held at the Sepang International Circuit in Sepang on 25 October 2015.
This race was notable for a collision between Valentino Rossi and Marc Márquez. The stewards deemed Rossi to have purposely pushed/kicked Márquez off course, and accrued three penalty points – enough to enforce a start from the back of the grid for the final race in Valencia.[1] Ultimately, this was a major factor in deciding the 2015 MotoGP championship between Rossi and his team mate Jorge Lorenzo, who finished second in this event to Dani Pedrosa, who scored his second victory in three races.
In the junior classes, Moto2 world champion Johann Zarco recorded his eighth victory of the season, ahead of pole-sitter Thomas Lüthi and Jonas Folger; while in Moto3, Miguel Oliveira maintained his chances of mathematically catching championship leader Danny Kent with his fifth victory of the season, ahead of Brad Binder and Jorge Navarro.[2] Kent himself finished seventh, and therefore held a twenty-four point lead going into the final round.
