Second season of the Indian drama television series 24, also known as Day 2, commenced airing on 23 July 2016, and is broadcast by Colors TV.[2][3] The show is written by Rensil D'Silva, Niranjan Iyengar and Priya Pinto, directed by Abhinay Deo and produced by Ramesh Deo Productions.The first look and the trailer was launched on Oct 21, 2015 and June 6, 2016 respectively.[4][5][6]

Plot summary

Jai Singh Rathod is back. But he isn't the same person anymore, at least on the surface. He's battling alcohol issues in rehab. That's not it. His son Veer (Akshay Ajit Singh) holds him responsible for his mother's (Tisca Chopra) death, and hates him. Jai gets a terror mastermind Roshan Sherchan (Ashish Vidyarthi) arrested along with accomplice Shivani Malik (Sakshi Tanwar). But Roshan's brother Haroon Sherchan (Sikander Kher) has made a deadly plan. He threatens to infect Mumbai with a virus that can put everyone's life at risk. While the Anti Terrorism Unit (including Shivani Malik) is trying its best to solve the case, Jai Rathod is hatching a plan to free Roshan. What's his motive? There's a new woman Maya in Jai's life (played by Surveen Chawla), and his daughter starts hating him even more for this. Jai apparently is doing everything for the sake of Maya, who's also seen romancing Haroon. What's her truth?

251"Day 2: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m."July 23, 2016 (2016-07-23)
Three years after the events of Day 1, Jai is revealed to be in rehab. A body is dropped off by a mysterious van at the Mumbai ATU HQ, where it is diagnosed with a deadly virus. The ATU is informed that it can cause a fast epidemic and kill everyone in Mumbai in a month. Jai thinks Veer (his son) still holds him responsible for the death of Trisha (Jai's wife and Veer's mother) and speaks to Kiran about this. Shivani Mallik in the ATU thinks Haroon would try to expose this virus in Mumbai through his drug network. With the help of Haroon and Gyan, Jai visits Roshan in Pune Central Jail to plan a prison break.
262"Day 2: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m."July 24, 2016 (2016-07-24)
Jai informs Roshan that Haroon has sent him to break him out of prison before he is hanged to death. Haroon calls Gyan to check the progress on the prison break. Omkar (Maya's father) disposes of the body of the man Haroon killed earlier and warns Maya not to run away, as he is scared of Haroon thinking he might kill him and Maya as well. Naina visits Aditya and Prithvi in Mumbai and urges him to free Divya as she is family. Maya calls Jai and informs him about a big consignment coming that night and that he is planning to leave India and she is not interested in leaving without him. Shivani informs the Home Secretary, the Police Commissioner and Prime Minister Aditya Singhania about the weaponized virus and the threat that they received to free Roshan. She also says that they have only 6 hours to work on it. Aditya instructs everyone to move Roshan to a highly secured cell and ask for Jai's whereabouts. This foils Jai's original plan and he asks Gyan to send him the blueprints of Pune Central Jail. In Pune Central Jail, BST delivers the bomb to Muzaffer. Jai detonates the bomb set by Muzaffer and informs Gyan that everything is in control to free Roshan and asks him to update Haroon as well. At the end of the episode, it is revealed that Gyan is a mole in the ATU HQ.
273"Day 2: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Can Jai save the world from a genocide attack?)"July 30, 2016 (2016-07-30)
Kiran shows the decorated house to Veer having separate spaces for her brother and her dad. Aditya and Prithvi conduct a meeting with all pharma companies regarding the health bill which would be presented in Parliament next week. Aditya says that it would reduce the cost of most life-saving medicines. Kush (the drug carrier) pays 2 months' rent in advance to his landlord. His parents ask him about where he got so much money from and find out that he sells drugs. He has a narrow escape when the ATU raids their house and the ATU notices that some cocaine was thrown into the wash basin by Kush's mother to hide it. The ATU suspects that it has made its way to the sewage system and that it needs to be contained as they suspect it has the virus in it. In the meantime, Roshan kills the inspector in his cell. Veer shows the video of Jai and Maya to Kiran to prove his point that Jai is having an affair. Gyan's colleagues in the ATU suspects that he is wrong when he leaves the desk frequently to update Jai and Haroon. Haroon scolds Jai to do his job as he is paying 25 crores to him and not to bother about Roshan's doings. The ATU doesn't find any virus in the cocaine found in the raid. At the end of the episode, Shivani figures out that virus is inside Kush.
284"Day 2: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Jai's last throw of the dice)"July 31, 2016 (2016-07-31)
The ATU starts looking for Kush. Prithvi was in between a discussion with an official about the Roshan situation when Naina interrupts them. Naina wants to know more about Dr. Devyani (Aditya's girlfriend) and ongoing issue when Prithvi asks her to talk to Aditya. Jai checks with Maya regarding the consignment and assures her that she is safe. The ATU trace Kush's call to find his location. Vedant tries to talk to him at the Neptune Mall and suddenly gets shot and Kush gets away in the crowd. Mitali comes to meet him in the basement and Haroon's men see this as an opportunity to capture them. Haroon updates Maya about the meeting at 8 in the evening and also tells her that Jai is helping Roshan get out of jail. Jai asks Gyan to send a fake mail to Jail Superintendent Joshi. Maya questions Jai about his true intentions and about why he is trying to free Roshan. At the end of the episode, the ATU gets to know that Jai was present in the jail during Roshan's cell transfer and they let S.P. Joshi know that Jai is no more working with the ATU and Joshi hears this with Jai sitting in front of him.
295"Day 2: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Will Jai win the game of death?)"August 6, 2016 (2016-08-06)
ATU chief Shivani asks Gyan to send an alert about Jai across all departments. Kush and his girlfriend know about the virus he is carrying. Jai shows Superintendent Joshi his son's picture and asks him to follow his orders to free Roshan. BST sabotages the electricity supply of Pune Central Jail to help Jai. Many cells catch fire creating chaos and the Jail Officials start opening the gates. Superintendent Joshi gives an order to start the Code Red Protocol. Haroon is furious about Jai's plan and asks Gyan for updates. Jai takes advantage of the outbreak and along with Roshan impersonates 2 police officers. Jai is caught up by a group of prisoners and they force him to play a round of Russian Roulette. BST gets killed in this. This episode ends with Jai and Roshan playing the game and one bullet sound is heard while the screen cuts to black.
306"Day 2: 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Virus is secure Jai is not)"August 7, 2016 (2016-08-07)
After so many hiccups, Jai is able to reach the control room and takes S.P. Joshi hostage. Kiran finds out the truth about Milli's mom Sara and asks her to seek the help of police when Inder arrives. Kiran runs away with Milli while Inder was stopped by Sara. Kush attempts committing suicide when his girlfriend Mitali falls asleep, but Mitali successfully saves him. Naina Singhania visits Dr. Devyani Bhoumik when she meets Dhruv over coffee and sees everything. Naina tells Devyani to leave Aditya alone to which Devyani replies back by telling her to leave Aditya and her alone. Zara tells Raj about Chang's hideout and he rescues Kush and Mitali. Naina asks Khosla to get each and every piece of information about Devyani. Colonel Sudeep from RAF updates the PMO about Jai's attempt to free Roshan. Aditya questions Shivani about Jai's involvement and orders her to come to the PMO. Shivani hands over charge to Gyan and leaves for the PMO. Meanwhile, Jai and Roshan manage a narrow escape with Superintendent Joshi as hostage. The Home Ministry issues a shoot at sight order against Roshan and Jai. Shivani hears this and requests the PMO to dismiss this order as they have S.P. Joshi with them. The PMO realises that Mallik is trying to defend Jai and labels him as 'traitor' and dismisses her request. In the end of the episode , the police and RAF strengthen their search efforts to capture Roshan and Jai; Gyan calls Haroon and tells him that Kush has been rescued and that Roshan and Jai are out of the jail.
317"Day 2: 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Roshan is free, but is Jai trapped?)"August 13, 2016 (2016-08-13)
Jai's decoy plan works and he escapes from the police. He updates Joshi about his son's whereabouts. Roshan insists on killing S.P. Joshi as he watched them leaving, but Jai tells him that he has a different plan. Joshi manages to reach the highway and updates his superiors about his son and Jai's location. Jai reaches the extraction point and asks Gyan to send him the ministry clearance forms ASAP and leaves in an ambulance. Mallik updates Aditya about the case and she still thinks Jai is innocent. The ATU and all other agencies know that Jai is in the ambulance going towards Mumbai. Mallik updates the CM and PM. Gyan tells Jai about this and says that he is on his own when Jai is just 10 mins away from the pickup point. The police chopper sees Jai, but he manages to escape through a tunnel. Naina grabs Prithvi and starts questioning him about Roshan's escape and puts him under pressure. Zara goes to the server room to check the low Internet connectivity and sees the photo of Jai and Roshan, but Gyan gets to her before she can inform the others. In the end, Roshan starts doubting Jai's intentions, about why Jai helped Haroon and starts beating Jai.
328"Day 2: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Vulnerable yet unafraid - Jai stands...)"August 14, 2016 (2016-08-14)
The PMO knows that someone is helping Jai from inside and assigns Siddharth Sehgal (Mallik's ex-husband) from the Intelligence Bureau as the ATU chief. Siddharth reaches the ATU HQ with Veer and takes charge. He instructs all the agents to tap into the surveillance footage of the highway, tap into Jai's cell phone and asks Gyan to check who sent the fake clearance to ambulance. Salim is caught and sent to Panvel police station. Roshan asks Haroon to not trust Jai and Haroon tells him that he is the only one who can take them out of the country and then Roshan is free to do anything with Jai. Maya gets to know this. Sehgal updates the PM about recent updates and Mallik insists on going back to the ATU HQ and Aditya agrees with her. On Sehgal's order, Veer tries calling Kiran to come to the ATU HQ for debrief, but she doesn't pick up. Aditya visits Naina when she tells him about her meeting with Devyani and her ex-boyfriend. Mihir has to do Zara's work and asks Gyan about her whereabouts. Kush's condition is getting worse and his parents visit him. Veer is on his way to meet Kiran where she is, in the hospital which is locked down for an hour. Naina surprises Aditya when he is on a call with Devyani. Mihir still sees network issues and visits the server room, but is unable to enter in it as access code were changed by Gyan. Gyan is trying to escape the ATU HQ when Mihir resets the password and entersee the server room. Zara tells Mihir about Gyan and Sehgal orders the ATU to be locked down to catch Gyan and take him into custody. Vedant gains his consciousness and hears all the updates and insists on going to the ATU HQ as soon as possible. At the end of the episode, Roshan tries to cut Jai's finger with a knife and they get into a fight but Jai gains the upper and asks for a rope to tie Roshan.
339"Day 2: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m."August 20, 2016 (2016-08-20)
While interrogating Gyan Haroon gives him a call, but ATU fails to trace it back. Khosla updates Naina about Dr. Bhoumick's background details, tells her that she was a drug addict. Vedant reaches ATU and asks Mallik to be there soon. Finally Haroon meets Roshan who was having his hands tied. Mallik asks Siddharth to let her and Vedant talk to Gyan. Veer calls Kiran, but that call is answered by her neighbor who is badly injured. Siddharth is losing his patience as he is pressured by higher authorities and starts interrogating him. Gyan cell received a signal which indicated that Jai, Haroon and Roshan are together. Mallik then tells Siddharth that this whole thing was a undercover operation and only she, Gyan and Vedant knew this and keep insisting that she wants to talk to PM. Mallik along with everyone involved in this operation gets in a conference with PM and updates them about the whole operation. She tells everyone that Jai did all this to gain confidence of Haroon and stop the virus attack. She also updates the PMO that the virus delivery is scheduled at 8:30 p.m. Aditya is furious that they have freed a man who is responsible for killing thousands of people. Siddharth backs Mallik and asks PM to support Jai so that they can get the virus. Mallik playa a video where Jai updates everyone about the reasons of all this being kept a secret. Aditya is left with no other option than to support this mission and let everyone know that all would go through an enquiry. Prithvi tells Aditya that he thinks ATU did the right thing by not telling others as they didn't wanted to put him in jeopardy. Khosla sends an email to hospital officials with some information about Dr. Devyani. Kiran tries to rescue the kid but her attempt fails as they are captured by kids father. In the end, Haroon shows a video about the deadly virus to Roshan and tells him that they got a 500 crore contract to release this in 6 big cities in India and virus delivery is at 8:30 pm.
3410"Day 2: 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m."August 21, 2016 (2016-08-21)
Roshan tells Haroon that he will handle the drug deal here onwards and he will make 2000 crore from this. To this stance, Haroon argues that he has given his word, but Roshan has already made his mind. CM talks to PMO that Mr. Mane is really upset with this while operation and they should talk to him as he is important part of their alliance. Meanwhile Veer reaches the hospital in time and saves Kiran from police, but the kids father takes Kiran hostage, but Veer successfully saves her. Scared Maya meets Jai and talks to him about Roshan and Haroons's plan to leave India and then kill Jai, but Roshan sees this. Siddharth and Mallik are having clashes due to their personal history. Roshan starts questioning Maya about her feelings in front of Haroon when they are interrupted by Jai. Roshan takes Jai on gun point during which the clock is broken which was sending signal to ATU. Roshan tells that Maya and Jai are having affair and Haroon asks her to confirm. Maya's father comes in between taking all the blame and creates a cover up story. Roshan starts playing with Haroon's emotions and asks Jai to beat Maya' father. ATU calls Haroon and makes up a story about some security issues during the drug delivery and updates Jai about his watch being broken. ATU updates PMO about their plan covering 5 km radius from his last location with a 30 people Delta force, but high rank officials starts asking questions about the Delta force capabilities as their would be dark and they suggests using automatic drones which also carries missiles having 99.9% accuracy. PMO gives time till 8:30 to Jai and ATU to finish their work, else they will proceed with the drone strike which might have up to 200 casualties. In the end, Siddharth updates Delta forces about drone strike at 8:30 and they can go to safe zone if they want while Roshan asks Jai to kill Maya' father if Maya doesn't tell the truth.
3511"Day 2: 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m."August 27, 2016 (2016-08-27)
Maya is furious on Jai as he pulled the trigger, but she was lucky as the chamber was empty. Haroon shouts at Roshan as he was enjoying his play with Jai and Maya. Khosla inform Naina about Jai's involvement in Roshan's Jail break. Kamat from backup team informs ATU about Haroons vehicles being started from the farmhouse for virus delivery. Haroon asks Roshan to copy the location coordinates sent by dealer in to map, as he wasn't aware about how to do this Jai gets an opportunity to start the tracker and ATU got his current location. Meanwhile drone has already taken off from the base and officials are waiting for approval from PM, but it goy aborted in time as ATU givea the update. Mane Shinde asks Aditya to meet him in person and asks hin to come alone and not to bring Prithvi. Aditya informs Prithvi that he is going out wuth Naina and would be back within an hour for meeting with pharma heads. Dealer denies on giving the virus as he sees Roshan, but Jai convinces him. Mehr, who was part of assassination attempt of Aditya arrives at meeting location and doubts Jai presence. She orders to search the surrounding for ATU and police teams but doesn't see anyone. At the hospital, Dr. Bhoumick has to go through blood test. Mehr gives a demo of virus to everyone and updates that incubation period is reduced further. ATU team is waiting for signal whereas Roshan asks for 2000 crores instead of 500 crores. At the end of the episode, Jai sends signal to take charge.
3612"Day 2: 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m."August 28, 2016 (2016-08-28)
Jai tells ATU to take the action carefully over the call, but the deal got cancelled as Roshan had asked for 2000 crores. At ATU , Siddharth is angry on Jai as he didn't gave any signal when all the terrorists were together. Later Jai calls ATU and explain that he wanted to be sure about the virus but the deal got cancelled before tests can reveal anything. Mane blackmail Aditya by showing pictures of Prithvi and Antara and asks for Prithvi' resignation, but Naina asures Aditya that she will take care of Mane and Prithvi shouldn't resign. Haroon gets furious on Roshan and Jai as he lost the deal due to them, but Jai asks him to calm down and wait for sometime. At the end of the episode, dealer calls Roshan and agrees to pay 2000 crores with one condition; he has to kill Jai in front of his eyes after virus delivery.
3713"Day 2: 10:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m."September 3, 2016 (2016-09-03)
Jai updates ATU that deal us going to happen in south east direction in 15 mins, but Maya listens his conversation. Jai explains her his reasons and asks her to go to ATU backup team placed at 2 km. Siddharth calls Kamat to stay alert and wait for Jai's signal. Meanwhile, Aditya denies to remove Prithvi from his staff. Naina threatens Mane Shinde that she will reveal secrets from his past if he keep on pilling Aditya' strings. PMO is having a meeting with all the pharma heads where ATU doctor shares the video came from terrorists and requests them to come up with an antidote. Kamat reached at the exchange location where he sees everyone and shares photos with ATU. Jai and Roshan asks for a retest for all 6 tubes containing virus. Jai gives go ahead to Kamat. Drug dealer asks Roshan to kill Jai, but Jai and Haroon gets into a fight where Haroon and Roshan gets killed. Jai asks ATU to follow the dealer. Kamat reached the site and updates ATU that both the brothers are dead and virus is secure, but Roshan killed him. Haroon asks him to free him from all this pain. ATu backup team reaches the location and finds that everyone is killed using a grenade and Haroon is dead along with one more dead body which is completely burned. Roshan's decoy works as he leaves his leather jacket and escape with a virus tube. ATU is trying to crack the safe containing the virus. Jai asks ATU to send backup and continue chasing the drug dealer. Maya leaves the base with her father to meet the backup team. Backup team who were chasing the drug dealer catches his car and they were attacked by someone hidden in the bushes. At the episode of the episode, Jai reaches in time and catches the drug dealer and fires a shot.
3814"Day 2: 11:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m."September 4, 2016 (2016-09-04)
ATU is happier as Jai captures Dhruv and Siddharth sends a chopper to their location and gives the good news to PM office giving all tye credit to Shivani. They tell that both the brothers are dead and virus is in custody. Aditya still asks pharma companies to come up with a vaccination for the virus. Mr. Bhoumick asjs everyone to start sharing their research work and takes the lead by sharing his findings. Meanwhile Roshan runs towards the jungle and calls Vasu. He updates him about Jai and Haroon. Vasu updates Balraj who was with Maya and catches her lie. He was about to shoot her when ATU team arrives and arrest her. Zara helps the ATU team to open the briefcase and they find that its missing one tube. After talking to Jai they get to know that Roshan has escaped with one tube. Jai arrives at ATU with Dhruv and everyone welcome him. Siddharth tells him that he has to face enquiry and Roy and Abhilasha are on the way. Till the time they came, Jai meets Kiran and Veer. Veer asks Jai about his relationship wiyh Maya and blames him that he has cheated his mom on the name of mission and leaves the room. Riy and Abhilasha arrives at ATU and tell Gyan and Maliik would also be questioned after him. Jai feels confident that he would again get a clean cheat like last time. Zara finds a fake passport match for Dhruv and Vedant starts the interrogating him. At the end of the episode, Naina asks Aditya to let Shantaram go who is convicted felon in a rape and murder case, to control Mane Shinde as he is one of the witness in a hit and run case involving Shinde. ATU updates Aditya about Roshan being alive and has one tube of virus with him. Roshan sees the city with virus in his hands.
3915"Day 2: 12:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m."September 10, 2016 (2016-09-10)
Jai is frustrating with the internal investigation against him and keep on asking to have this after the crisis. Meanwhile ATU gets a lead of Roshan's hideout and Sehgal agrees to send Jai on his risk. But Roshan successfully funds a way out. In this whole mess, Jai learns Roshan has replicated the virus in 6 tubes and one of them will be going off in one hour.
4016"Day 2: 1:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m."September 11, 2016 (2016-09-11)
Chang plants the first bomb in Gateway hotel. Veer and Gyan reaches there to stop it from detonation. Gyan was about to succeed in his mission by stopping the ventilation system, but bomb explodes and he got majorly exposed to the virus along with everyone present in the hotel. Jai let Balraj go so that he can lead him to Roshan as a small fish and keep on following him.
4117"Day 2: 2:00 a.m. – 3:00 a.m."September 17, 2016 (2016-09-17)
Roshan let Balraj go in his trap and kills him in a bomb explosion, Jai tries to atop this and doesn't succeed. Jai comes back to ATU and learns about Veet and Gyan's health at hotel. Jai gets a lead from Maya about a lady in Roshan's life who might be helpful in reaching Roshan. Veer is having difficulty controlling the crowd at hotel as they came to know about the virus and shot a man who tries to go out.
4218"Day 2: 3:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m."September 18, 2016 (2016-09-18)
Gyaan is having tough time dealing with the virus exposure. Roshan asks PM Aditya and Jai to kill Mallik if they want to avoid second attack at Dadar station. ATU tracks a location from the Dadar station feed due to a successful hack from Zara. When Vedant reaches the location, they got to know it just a router. At the end of the episode, Jai shot Mallik.
4319"Day 2: 4:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m."September 24, 2016 (2016-09-24)
Maya demands a pardon from PM if ATU needs more information. Sehgal is deal with the loss of Mallik and inform while team that Mallik is dead while leading an search operation for Roshan. Roshan updates Jai about the code to diffuse the bomb at Dadar station. Roshan is making a deal with foreign soil to get of the country.
4420"Day 2: 5:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m."September 25, 2016 (2016-09-25)
Jai and Vedant uses the information provided by Maya and reaches the location to find the daughter of Roshan, Vaidehi. Jai asks ATU to clone her phone to trace all the calls and messages. When Jai questions her about Roshan and tells her about Anjali's death, she get upset and contacts Roshan. ATU successfully route all the communication of Vaidehi's cell to cloned cell. When Roshan contacts her, Sehgal doesn't find a girl other than Kiran. Kiran tell a lie that she is at Starlite apartment near ATU office. Jai asks Sehgal to not involve Kiran in this matter, but they didn't had a choice as Roshan heard her voice. Later Roshan talks to Kiran through a Video call and asks her to come to a park wearing a track and hood. ATU have their men in position to keep an eye on Kiran, but she was told to have her hood in place so Roshan's men can't see her directly. At the end of the episode, ATU fell in the trap as Roshan's man successfully swap Kiran with a other girl leaving her phone and hood.
4521"Day 2: 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m."October 1, 2016 (2016-10-01)
Jai came to know that Kiran was captured by Roshan's men. Jai is shocked to see her and asks Vedant to cover him. Jai attacks on Roshan killing moat of them and threatens to kill Kiran if he doesn't disclose the location of virus. Jai gets two tubes but Roshan knows about Kiran and his hacker attacks Jai and kiran. Dr. Bhoumick' hazmat suit is compromised and then he meets PM for WHo conference call, where initial symptoms of the virus are visible. Roshan disclose his actual location and Jai is about to send a team, when Sehgal gets a video of his son and mother in law is captured. Sehgal misguide ATU team so that Roshan can escape. Jai and Abhishek's team come face to face and Jai learns that Sehgal gave these orders. Sehgal tries to cover up his mess. PM came to know that Roshan escaped and asks for reasons. Meanwhile Antara tells Prithvi that she killed Mane Shinde. Jai starts suspecting their is someone who might be helping Roshan.

Antara shows Prithvi proof about Naina's involvement in Her husband's murder. Prithvi tries to stop her from showing this in public as it would hurt his and Aditya' political career, but she end up committing suicide. PM Aditya is showing initial symptoms of the virus and it's is also spreading in the city as Dr. Bhoumick's driver drop his daughter to examination center and seen with initial symptoms. While Jai has his suspicion that someone is helping him from inside, he asks Veer to check on that. Veer confirm that only Sehgal has that kind of access, when he is busy trying to break Vaidehi out of ATU. Vedant asks Mihir to trace Sehgal's phone and initiates lockdown. Jai came to know about Sehgal's involvement in breaking out Vaidehi. Jai suspects Roshan has kidnapped Mallik's mom as she doesn't answer the phone. Prithvi confronts Naina about Mane Shinde' murder and shows her watch as proof, but she doesn't seem scared. Doctors at the hotel came to about broken wind pipe of one of the hazmat suit and start looking into who all have wore that suite. Dr. Devyani visits Aditya to see bleeding nose and look worried. Aditya suspect everyone in PMO is infected and asks to lockdown. Meanwhile Jai intercept Sehgal and ask him to cooperate. They force Roshan to change the exchange location. Vedant takes the charge of ATU. Zara uploads fake satellite images to fool Roshan.
4723"Day 2: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m."October 8, 2016 (2016-10-08)
Jai saves Maddy and kills Roshan by hanging him down the building. Sehgal is sent to ATU for further questioning. Vedant informs Jai about the location of 6th virus tube and asks him to reach in 15 mins. Jai catches the man in the bus who was trying to explode the virus in 10 mins but another agent shot him dead before getting any useful information. Pandemic is created across the city as more people are seen infected. Jai thinks whoever created the virus must have an antidote as pharma company says they need at least 10 days to create a vaccine out of Dhruv' blood. In the end of the episode, to trace those people, Maddy suggests to release the virus and trace the signal and ATU head Vedant shows his disagreement.

Jai releases the virus in the washing machine and contains it while Maddy traces the terrorists who were monitoring its release nearby. meanwile, Jai asks Vedant to check for Dhruv's autopsy and asks him to send a backup team. . Jai sees Mehr on the location but she uses an explosion to evade. Jai and Vedant support Sehgal in front of Bose, but he disagrees and declare him a traitor. Vedant comes to know that Dhruv was poisoned and checks the hospital footage. Naina singhania meets Devyani and asks her to support Aditya and look after him. Vedant and Jai find a connection between Mehr, Devyani and Dhruv as they were working for the same NGO. Devyani gives a solution to Aditya saying it would help him reducing pain. Jai asks Dr. Sunny Mehta to stop devyani and check for antibodies in her blood. Meanwhile Naina tries to influence C.M. Arikar to make her the next PM if something happens to aditya while offering him the post of home minister. Prithvi interrupts them and feels disappointed with her. Prithvi blackmails her with the recording given by Antara and asks her to stay away from Aditya's dreams. Dr. Sunny finds antibodies in Devyani's blood and updates Jai. Upon searching ATU doesn't find anything in Devyani's office. Jai interrogates Devyani in front of Aditya and blames her for killing Dhruv, but she denies everything and falls unconscious and they think it might have been because of Diabetes but Aditya tells them that he gave her insulin twice. Dr. Sunny calls Dr. Bhoumick to tell that Devyani is showing initial symptoms of infection. Dr. Bhoumick doesn't believe that she fell sick. Dr. Bhoumick updates his lab assistant about Devyani's situation and asks him to try the antidote on him as he had infected himself with an accelerated version of the virus. Jai and Devyani catch him red-handed. He tells everyone that he has done this because of the health bill that the Singhania family was trying to bring which would only allow pharmaceutical companies to make medicines for ongoing diseases unlike now when they were also doing research on diseases that may arise in the future and he has created this pandemic event to make everyone realize the importance of their research. He also confessed that he had killed Dhruv. Mihir along with Zara see the video of Jai killing Mallik and delete the video. Vedant tells Jai that the video of Mallik' death went viral on social media. Season ends with Mallik's mother shooting a bullet towards Jai and keeping us in suspense, like every time.

Anil Kapoor, who was back with Season 2 of 24, received positive feedback from the viewers for his fresh outing. The actor was grateful for the critical acclaim he has been getting and makes sure he replies to every tweet that mentions him or 24.[16]
