A Blessed Life (Chinese: 吉人天相) is a Singaporean Chinese sitcom sponsored by Pioneer Generation Package, produced by MediaCorp Channel 8. It stars Li Nanxing, Chen Liping, Zhu Houren, Brandon Wong, Richard Low and Youyi as the main characters of the sitcom. It revolves around a group of old men fulfilling their dreams to perform band on stage.[1]

Ye Daji (Li Nanxing) meets an old classmate, Ming (Wang Yuqing), who asks him out for coffee but makes him pay for a big meal instead. When a vagabond walks in and is chased away by the restaurant manager, Daji speaks up for him and even gives him a treat. Daji is sad when his girlfriend, Jiexi (Youyi), turns down his marriage proposal again. Ye Da (Chen Liping) is a divorcee with a 10-year-old son, Xie Tingfeng (Ivan Lo). She lives with Daji and teaches martial arts for a living. As she has few students, Daji tries stage fights to show off her skills. | ||

Daji gives Meilin a lift. When he realises his Cashcard is missing, he suspects her of taking it. May borrows Daji’s cashcard, as hers is not working. When he gets the card back, he discovers it to be the spoilt card. He turns up late for his date with Jiexi. Disillusioned, he vows to no longer be a nice person anymore. Daji tells Youguo (Zhu Houren) it is time for him to leave. Youguo refuses, and finds medical evidence to prove Daji has to be responsible for his injuries. Daji and Ye Da meet Meilin at the supermarket. Daji recognises her and asserts that she is a con woman. Meilin denies this, and Ye Da trusts her. | ||

Daji fails to wake up for morning exercises with Youguo. Ye Da wakes him up by threatening to read his mobile phone. Youguo trips and falls while at his morning exercise. Daji takes him to a CHAS clinic, which refers him to a hospital specialist. Tingfeng loses his mobile phone. He returns home in a dark mood. Daji tries every which way to lure the culprit out but to no avail. | ||

A drunk Daji mistakes the refrigerator for the toilet. Youguo cleans up the mess for him. Daji then uses the rag Youguo had used to clean, making a fool of himself. Ye Da finds out Tingfeng is hooked on computer games and admonishes him. Daji drinks in misery when he discovers all his money has been withdrawn via the ATM. Daji sees Youguo chatting with a woman, Jenny, and worries he will be cheated by her. Ye Da finds Tingfeng playing games in the middle of the night. | ||

Daji’s good friend, De, has a tummyache and wants to go to the emergency department at the hospital. Daji urges him to seek help at a polyclinic instead, as the charges are lower and the medical services offered are good too. What matters most is to get the correct medication to treat the problem. Jenny returns from America to see Youguo. So that she would not worry about him, he lies he is enjoying life. | ||

Wen asks for help when an old man faints in the streets. No one except Youguo is willing to help. The old man, Huang Jinshan, turns out to be Youguo’s old bandmate. Jiaquan hires Daji to deliver a set of clothes to Wen. He refuses to reveal why he cannot do it himself. Wen suspects the person behind the set of clothes is his son. He had caused the deaths of his wife and daughter as a result of drunk-driving, and his son refuses to forgive him. Daji tells Wen that no one would want their father to be a vagabond. | ||

Daji feels uneasy when he finds his gums bleeding while brushing his teeth. He is peeved to see Youguo using unorthodox methods to treat his illness. Daji learns that De survived an ordeal when he sought help at the hospital after suffering from stomach pains. Daji is delivering goods with Wen when he finds his nose bleeding. He finally decides to seek medical help. As he waits for the medical report, he starts to ponder on matters regarding death. Youguo discovers that Daji is the son of Qi, the lead singer of his band. | ||

Daji and Youguo convince Jinshan to fulfil his dream of their band performing on stage again. Daji goes about the arrangements, while Youguo and Jinshan take charge of looking for the other band members. At his alma mater to look for information on his cohort, Youguo meets a former classmate whom he once had a crush on. She is now the vice principal of the school and is about to retire. Youguo chats with her and discovers he had missed out on certain milestones in his youth. |
