Aaron A. Davis (born May 30, 1979, in Los Angeles, California) is an American basketball player. He played collegiately for Faulkner State Community College in 1997–1998 and the University of Florida from 1998–2000.

Professional career

He had signed with the Miami Heat as a free agent on October 3, 2001, but was released just 8 days later without playing in any regular season games for the franchise. He played for Azoty Unia Tarnów in the Polish Basketball Leaguein 2001-02 season after being released by Miami. After one season in Poland, Aaron was invited by the Sacramento Kings to join their NBA Summer League team in the L.A SummerPro League in Long Beach, California in 2002. After the summer season he went on to join the Brevard Blue Ducks in 2003 and the Oklahoma Storm in 2004 of the United States Basketball League where he averaged 11.6 points per game in both seasons combined and also had a brief stint with the Grand Rapids Hoops of the Continental Basketball Association. During that same summer he trained with High School friend and former Orlando Magic star Tracy McGrady and also starred in two of his Adidas commercials "One" and "Acknowledge" alongside former teammates Mike Miller and Horace Grant, all formerly of the Orlando Magic. In summer 2004 he was invited to join the Phoenix Suns SummerLeague team in California by current New York Knicks assistant coach Phil Webber as a late addition to the team. From 2005-06 Davis played in the Japan Basketball League where he averaged 26.7 ppg and led the team in 3pt percentage. Later on in 2006 he suffered a broken leg and took the entire 2007–2008 season to recover from a devastating injury.[5] In 2009 he played in the Enfuegohoops showcase in San Diego, California where he averaged 11.8 ppg and was also voted to the all-star game by the coaches in attendance. He also went on to win the 3pt contest with 13 made under 1 minute. During the summer of 2010 he played in the Dino Smiley Drew Summerleague joining forces with current Milwaukee Bucks star Brandon Jennings and current Oklahoma City Thunder star James Harden averaging just over 12.6 points and 4.3 assist a game. Also participated in the Eurobasket Summer league held in Las Vegas,NV playing for Team Zuric where he averaged 13 points and 4 rebounds a game.In the summer of 2011 Davis played for a second consecutive year in the Dino Smiley Drew League joining the likes of, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Nick Young, Shannon Brown, and high school foe Steve Blake in the midst of the NBA Lockout. Davis averaged just under 12 points per game and 4 assist while helping his team achieve a 9-2 record early in the season. In August 2011 Davis Participated in the 3rd annual En Fuego Hoops showcase geared around Latin American basketball where he received numerous offers from Latin American basketball clubs by having a scoring outburst of 31 points and adding 6 assist in the very first game and averaging 17 points per game throughout the showcase. Other teams that Davis has played for or been in training camp for include Toronto Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks of the (NBA). Grand Rapids Hoops, Yakima Sun kings (CBA). Los Angeles Defenders, North Charleston Low Gators, Asheville Altitude (NBDL) [1][2][3]

Amateur career

Davis Played at Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida where he lettered in Basketball, Track, and Football. He was also recruited by the University Of Florida, University of South Carolina, University of Oklahoma, University of Oregon, and University of Arizona to play football. Before entering High School he played in the Amateur Athletic Union with K-Swiss & Slam N Jam out of Los Angeles, California before he moved to Florida, his teammates included Andre Miller, Baron Davis, Dino Tanner, and Kenny Brunner. Once Davis entered high school he was highly recruited by numerous PAC 10 schools and SEC schools for basketball including Tennessee, South Carolina, University Of Southern California and Stanford. Davis played AAU basketball in Florida with former Boston Celtics draft pick and current Los Angeles Defenders (NBDL) star guard Orien Greene who was a cross town rival in high school and current Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem . Davis was also selected to compete in the Junior Olympic trials in Raleigh,NC and made the team to advance and compete for the Junior world team in Houston,TX. Davis competed in the Long Jump where he was coached by 1988,1992 silver medalist Mike Powell and also competed in the Triple Jump, 400M, 4x2 meter relay, and 4x4 meter relay.
