Abarkuh (Persian: ابركوه, also Romanized as Abarkūh and Abar Kūh; also known as Abarghoo, Abarkū, Abar Qū, and Abarqūh)[1] is a city in and capital of Abarkuh County, Yazd Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 20,994, in 5,880 families.[2]
Abarkuh is located at an altitude of 1510 metres (4954 feet).[3] An ancient living cypress tree, the Sarv-e-Abarqu, is located here.[4]
