Abner Felipe Souza de Almeida commonly known as Abner is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a left back for Real Madrid Castilla.

Career

Abner was born in Londrina, Brazil to a Brazilian father and a Salvadorian mother. He was later raised in San Salvador after his parents' divorce. At 12 years old, he had a trial with local club FAS and passed, but returned to Brazil in 2011.

Abner made his Campeonato Brasileiro Série A debut for Coritiba in a 2–2 draw with Goiás in September 2013.[1] On 16 July 2014, it was announced that, despite long standing interest from Italian giants Roma, Abner had signed for Real Madrid Castilla.[2]

International career

Abner played for the Brazil national under-17 football team at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.[3] However, he suffered a knee injury in a group stage match that kept him out of the remainder of the tournament.[1]
