Muhammed Abu Sayed Ansarey (Bengali: মুহাম্মদ আবু সাইয়িদ আনসারী; born 26 December 1978) is a Bangladeshi-born British lawyer, television presenter, and Chairman and Imam of West London Mosque.

Early life

Ansarey was born in Sylhet Division, Bangladesh and moved to the United Kingdom in 2002.[1]

Career

Ansarey is the Imam[2] and the Chairman of the West London Muslim Centre in Isleworth[1] where he is a teacher of Arabic language. Previously he was the Imam of BBC Centre Mosque.[3]

Since December 2004, Ansarey has presented programmes on Channel S, ATN Bangla and Channel I.[4]

In 2012, Ansarey graduated with a 2.2 in Law from the University of West London. Ansarey is also a campaigner for the Hounslow Labour Party and runs the Arabic School at Hounslow Jamia Masjid and Islamic Centre.[1]

Personal life

Since 2007, Ansarey has lived in Brentford, London with his wife, Lutfa Ansarey, and their children.[1]
