Agilisys is a software and business services provider which has its headquarters in London with a focus in local government and citizen-centric technology products. Employing around 1,900 staff, it has gained a reputation in providing customer services, ICT and consulting services.

The company was started in 1998 by Manoj Badale and Charles Mindenhall. Its current structure being established in 2004, out of a merger between netdecisions, Agilisys Contact Services and Agilisys. Agilisys is part of a wider family of Blenheim Chalcot companies. In 2015, the company established itself as an employee-owned company through an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

Company history

Agilisys traces its roots back to the founding of netdecisions by Manoj Badale and Charles Mindenhall in 1998. Early customers of the company included BBC, Coca-Cola, Exel Logistics and Thomson Travel Group. Agilisys was founded as a joint venture with netdecisions in 2003, with a public sector focus. The same year saw the establishment of Agilisys Contact Services as a result of the purchase of Contact Partners. Agilisys, netdecisions and Agilisys Contact Services (ACS) combined under the Agilisys brand in 2004, becoming part of the wider family of Blenheim Chalcot companies.

In 2004, Agilisys entered into its first Strategic Partnership with a local government organisation. The London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham partnership with Agilisys eventually led to the creation of the H&F Bridge Partnership (HFBP) in 2006. Further partnerships with local councils have been entered into with Cumbria Country Council (2005), Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council and Mouchet Group (2006), Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council Council (2009) North Somerset Council (2010), Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council (2010), Tower Hamlets Council (2012), Bristol City Council (2012), Wolverhampton City Council (2013), Bolton and Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council (2013), City of Edinburgh Council[1] (2015), and Kent County Council (2015).

Partnerships in the third sector have been with the Citizen's Advice Bureau (2011) and Save the Children (2013).

In 2008, Agilisys appointed its first CEO, Kay Andrews.

Agilisys Cloud Services was launched in 2011 as a new division with David Cotterell being appointed as managing director to spearhead the development.[2] In 2012, Agilisys launched its product division. Agilisys Digital, Angilisys Engage, Agilisys Automate and Agilisys Revenue Collection made up the Digital Transformation division of the company.

In 2012, Steven Beard was appointed as CEO, with Kay Andrews becoming Executive Director for Client Development.

Agilisys Arch was launched in 2012 and aims to give young people the opportunity to gain technical expertise as an alternative to a university degree. Co-founded by Ben Rowland, the apprenticeship branch of Agilisys trains its apprentices for level 3 and 4 diplomas which cover digital skills such as Search Engine Marketing, Data Analysis and Social Media.[3]

In April 2015 Agilisys adopted a "John Lewis style" model and established an Employee Ownership Trust. The body exists to represent the interests of Agilisys’ employees, who are now majority shareholders in the company.[4]

Agilisys relocated it's London headquarters to One Hammersmith Broadway, Hammersmith, London in October 2016. The move preceded the H&F Bridge Partnership (HFBP) completion at the end of October 2016.

Transformation

Agilisys Transformation is the consulting division of Agilisys. It delivers end-to-end transformation services from IT strategy development, organisational transformation and change management through to business process re-engineering and implementation. Its managing partner is Nicky Cox.

Products

Digital Transformation is the Products division of Agilisys. Formed in 2012, this division houses Agilisys Digital, Agilisys Engage, Agilisys Automate, Agilisys Contact, Agilisys Revenue Collection and Agilisys Connect. Its Managing Director is Nigel Muirhead.

Agilisys Digital

Agilisys Digital, launched in 2012, is a solution that enables local councils and public sector organizations to deliver online services.[5] It implements a customer relationships (CRM) platform that encourages citizens to carry out their activities online.

Agilisys Engage

Agilisys Engage is a "plug-and-play" software service for local government websites that understands, analyses and learns from citizens online behaviour to provide visitors with personalised content within the website in real-time. It focuses on characteristic online users to provide bespoke browsing experiences.

Agilisys Automate

Agilisys Automate,[6] launched in 2014, is a hosted Business Process as a Service (BPaaS) designed to streamline the processing of inbound correspondence such as post, email and SMS.[7]

Agilisys Connect

Agilisys connect is an "out-of-the-box" website solution for local governments, providing fully responsive mobile websites and content management systems that promote key content and transactions.

Contact services

Agilisys Contact Services (ACS) is a provider of outsourced customer care and sales solutions for the UK public and private sector. Formed in 2003, it carries out outsourced customer care and advice centres across the UK.

IT Services

This division provides managed IT services, business services and outsourcing solutions through a network of data centres across the UK.

Agilisys Revenue Collection

Agilisys Revenue Collection is a debt recovery product that was launched in 2013.[8]

Arch Apprentices

Arch was set up by the Blenheim Chalcot Group and Agilisys in 2012 in order to secure a new supply of much needed IT and digital talent and to expand its ability to deliver to local authorities and other government agencies who want to increase and improve the quality of youth employment.[9]

Community Cloud

Cloud Services were founded in 2011 as an Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas). Late 2016, Agilisys re-launched their cloud services operation under the brand Community Cloud. Community Cloud combines a multitude of IT solutions,[10] (IaaS, License Management, Outsource, Security, Desktop, SIAM, Mobility) to manage complex legacy systems and future applications.

Operations

Agilisys was named in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 index for the fastest growing privately owned mid-market companies in Britain in 2013[11] and 2016.[12] The annual Grant Thompson Top Track 250 recognises privately owned companies with significantly increasing year-on-year growth and is published in The Sunday Times each October.

Since its inception, Agilisys has worked both for the public sector (local and central government), third sector organizations and the private sector. It has established a number of strategic partnerships providing ICT and business services with local government authorities.

Local Government Partnerships

In 2004, Agilisys entered an Incremental Strategic Partnership with the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham. In 2006 the Joint Venture Company H&F Bridge Partnership (HFBP) was established through a ten-year deal between Agilisys and the council. This led to the creation of London's first shared services centre.[13]

In 2005, Agilisys established a partnership with Cumbria Country Council and together made a successful bid to run Consumer Direct North West, a provider of consumer advice services to citizens in 22 Local Authorities across the North West.[14]

In 2009, Agilisys enters the Building Schools for the Future market with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. The ten-year partnership has involved Agilisys transformation services, with a focus on increasing the use of 21st century ICT to the area.

In 2010 Agilisys enter into a Strategic Partnership with North Somerset Council to provide Customer Services, ICT, Revenues and Benefits, Finance, HR, Payroll and Facilities Management in a ten-year deal.[15]

In the same year, Agilisys create the Elevate East London partnership with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. This partnership contracted Agilisys to transform and deliver ICT services, Revenues and Benefits, Customer Services, and Procurement for the council.[16]

In 2012 Agilisys entered into a seven-year partnership with Tower Hamlets council to deliver its IT services in the form of new finance and HR systems, as well as support its transformation programme.[17]

In 2012 Bristol City council selected Agilisys to implement and host a new integrated back office system. This involved the implementation of a new integrated Finance, HR and Asset management system as part of the City Council's transformation programme.

In 2013 Wolverhampton City Council and Agilisys go into a partnership to transform its business processes in Finance, Human Resources, Procurement and Payroll.[18] The five-year programme is known as FutureWorks sought to modernize the council's ICT system.

Agilisys was chosen by Westminster City Council for a customer services transformation contract. Agilisys provides a 24/7 customer contact centre and back office customer service operation for the council.

In 2015 Agilisys signed a contract with the City of London to deliver IT services to the City of London police.

In the same year, Agilisys and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham extend their joint venture, which secures Elevate’s future to 2020.

The company was awarded a contract in partnership with CGI to deliver digital IT transformation to the City of Edinburgh Council.

Towards the end of 2015, Agilisys and Kent County Council setup an initial 6 year partnership to deliver Contact Centre Services across the County. Agilisys will implement Agilisys Digital and Agilisys Engage to enable Kent to transform the way they interact with their residents.

Central Government

Agilisys has worked with a number of central government agencies to meet their targets that have been set in line with the 'Digital by Default' agenda, announced in the 2012 government budget.

In 2014 Agilisys signed a contract with the Ministry of Justice and the Legal Aid Agency to deliver Civil Legal Advice contact centre services, based in North Somerset.[19] The deal involved Agilisys delivering the Civil Legal Advice (CLA) Operator Service on behalf of the Legal Aid Agency. This services helps to determine whether people qualify for legal support.

Agilisys has completed proof of concept work for large central government agencies for improving processing benefits and records.

Third Sector

Agilisys has worked with third sector organisations to help them run their contact service provisions in contact centres across the UK. In 2011 Agilisys entered into a partnership with Citizens Advice Bureau to provide a consumer help service. Agilisys provides phone and online support from four contact centres totalling 180 seats across England and Wales.[20]

In 2013 Agilisys was awarded a contract with Save the Children to provide support for the charity's "Eat Sleep Learn Play!" early intervention programme.[21] The three-year deal sees Agilisys providing customer service support for the charity.

Healthcare

Agilisys provides Information Management and Technology (IM&T) strategy consultancy for organisations delivering health services to both the NHS and private sector to help them achieve their targets.

For BMI Healthcare, Agilisys is responsible for RIS-PACS across 50 sites throughout the UK. In 2014 Agilisys and Quickheart, an Adult Social Care web services provider, signed a partnership deal.[22]

In 2016 HCR and Agilisys become affiliated under Blenheim Chalcot (BC). The latest BC investment, HCR Debt Services, provides innovative technology and business processes to maximise reimbursement and debt recovery for the NHS.[23]

Awards

In 2005 Agilisys was coveted with the "Transforming Customer Services Achievement of the Year" award at the MJ Achievement Awards.

In 2007 Agilisys was awarded the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status in two specialist areas; Advanced Infrastructure Solutions and Networking Infrastructure Solution

In 2011, the Hammersmith and Fulham IT System developed in partnership with Agilisys, wins an Innovation award

The Hammersmith & Fulham’s Residents Online Parking Permit Renewals project, which was delivered in partnership with Agilisys, won a prestigious national award from Government Computing.

Agilisys, in partnership with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, was awarded the "Excellence in Partnership Working" prize at the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation (IRRV) performance awards in 2012 [24] and in 2013 with the partnership between Agilisys and Hammersmith and Fulham council.[25]

Agilisys Revenue Collection wins the top prize for ‘Excellence in Debt Management’[26] at the 2015 IRRV National Performance Awards with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC) and JBW Judicial Services Group
