Akhil Rabindra is an Indian racing driver, studying in University of Edinburgh, Scotland and pursuing his racing in the 2016 BRDC British Formula-3 Championship with team Lanan Racing.[1] Akhil Rabindra was a Vice Champion in JK Tyre National Racing Championship 2014.[2][3][4] Rabindra has raced in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship 2015 in the United Kingdom. He was the winner of FIA Young Driver Excellence Award 2014, where he was selected for the Asia-Pacific region.[5][6] Rabindra won the Toyota Etios Colombo Night Race 2013.[7][8] He was the Vice Champion in Toyota Etios Motor Racing (EMR) 2013.[9]

Career

Rabindra started his career by winning the JK Tyres MMS Rotax Max National Rookie Championship 2011. Rabindra began go-karting, and won the Vice Championship of Amaron National Karting Challenge 2011.[10][11] In the same year, Rabindra won the Championship in Red Bull Kart Fight 2011.[12] Rabindra made his Racing debut in 2012 with JK Tyre National Racing Championship 2012 - LGB Formula-Swift and subsequently in JK Tyre National Racing Championship 2012. Rabindra took to touring cars in 2013 and was Champion Toyota Ethios Colombo Night Race 2013.[13] He was titled Vice Champion in the Toyota Etios Motor Racing 2013.[14] Rabindra was nominated from FMSCI to represent India for the FIA Young Drivers Excellence Academy 2014, where he won a place in FIA Young Driver Excellence Academy for the Asia-Pacific region.[15][16][17][18][19] In 2014, Rabindra was titled the Vice Champion at JK Tyre National Racing Championship 2014 across India.[20] Rabindra also participated in the Formula Masters China Series 2014.[21] In 2015, Rabindra competed in BRDC Formula 4 Championship across the United Kingdom and JK Tyre National Racing Championship 2015 across India. Rabindra is currently competing in the 2016 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship across the United Kingdom.
