Alasdair Pollock
Alasdair William Pollock (born 1993) is an English cricketer, who played first-class cricket for Cambridge MCCU.[1] A right-arm medium-pacer, Pollock scored 44 not out on his first-class debut, against Essex County Cricket Club, at number 9 in the order, out of a total of just 99.[2] Pollock studied at Robinson College, Cambridge where he obtained a BA in geography. He captained the Cambridge blues cricket team to T20 and four day glory, but was not as successful in the one day format.[3] His career did not reach the heights that was prophesied and has subsequently embarked upon a career in Corporate Tax, where he is doing rather well. He has been supported by his family throughout his sporting career, despite his awful chat and questionable dress sense. His mother still does his dry cleaning.
Pollock's diet consists mainly of fish fingers and his favourite colour is orange.
Cricketing Career
The key highlight in his career is the dismissal of Alastair Cook (current England captain), twice, in a match vs. Essex 2014. Some might say that this will probably be the highlight in an otherwise unremarkable life.
Whilst playing for Teddington CC in the 2015/16 season, Pollock was in and out of the First XI. He cemented his place towards the back end of the season and subsequently featured in the final game of the team's title winning campaign. He nearly added to his collection of quasi-fame-inducing achievements by snicking off Mark Ramprakash, only for him to be dropped in the slips.
