George Alexander "Alex" Hamilton III (born October 5, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League. He played college basketball for Louisiana Tech.
College career
Hamilton, a 6'4" shooting guard from Chipley High School in Chipley, Florida,[1] came to Louisiana Tech in 2012 and became one of the program's leading all-time scorers. In his senior season, Hamilton was named the Conference USA Player of the Year, as well as earning all-conference and All-Defensive team honors.[2]
Professional career
After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA draft, Hamilton joined the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2016 NBA Summer League. On August 11, 2016, he signed with Polish team MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza,[3] but was released two months later before playing in a game for them.[4] On October 30, 2016, he was selected by the Oklahoma City Blue with the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA Development League Draft. He was later traded to the Santa Cruz Warriors on draft night.[5]
