Alex Kim (born May 10, 1979 in Fullerton, California) is an American retired professional ice hockey center.

Early life

Alex grew up playing ice hockey in the Southern California region. Since the age of 9, he played Tier 1 (AAA) Hockey. At age 16, the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) scouted him to be a top-line center. From Des Moines, he was recruited by Miami University (Ohio) RedHawks as a “Blue Chip” freshman. After two years with the RedHawks, Alex returned to Des Moines for another season in the USHL, and then transferred to Colorado College the following season.

Professional career

Alex's professional career consists of playing in the American Hockey League (AHL), East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), United Hockey League (UHL), West Coast Hockey League (WCHL), ELITE Ice Hockey League (EIHL), and the Asia League (AL). From 2010-12, Alex played two seasons for Anyang Halla. He has also previously played for rival High1. Alex's two-year contract with Anyang Halla ended in 2012.[1] For the 2012-2013 season, Alex signed with FBI VEU Feldkirch of the Austrian Hockey League mid-season and retired after the season ended.
