Alex Oliver Quinn (born 1969) is a British sculptor / artist.

Early life and career

Alex Oliver Quinn grew up on a farm in County Durham. He attended a Quaker school but did not do well and left with little in the way of qualifications. Quinn attended and graduated from Goldsmiths College, London, in 1990 He was awarded the The Princes Trust Award in 1992 to support his art practice and received the British Council Award in 2008 and in 2004 was shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize.[1]

In 2008 Quinn designed and made a large Banana which was commissioned by The Big Issue.[2]

The work

Established and accomplished as a sculptor / artist in his own right he now only works on commissions. His main theme is animals and nature.

Personal life

Quinn is married to Susan Allan; also a sculptor. They have two children and now live and work in Bristol
