Amanda Cook (born Amanda Falk) is a Christian music recording artist from Niverville, Manitoba, Canada. She received a Juno Award at the 2006 awards ceremony for her eponymous debut album. She married her husband Jacob Cook on January 16, 2011.[1] Cook has released three albums under her maiden name   Amanda Falk, Beautiful, and In Between the Now & Then.

Musical career

In 2004 she released her self-titled debut album, Amanda Falk, on Winnipeg label Avante Records.[2][3] It was later released to the iTunes Store on May 30, 2006[4] The album received recognition in a 2006 Juno Award in the category Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year.[5] Cook has received a GMA Canada Covenant Award for Female Vocalist of the Year for four consecutive years, 2005 through 2008.

In 2006  2007, Cook went on the Beautiful Unique Girl (BUGIRL) Tour in which she appeared with other bands across Canada. The tour was designed to help boost teenage girls' confidence. She also appeared at YouthQuake 2007 and 2008 at Briercrest College and Seminary.

Cook's second album Beautiful was released on October 23, 2007, on Avante Records.[6][7][8] On March 1, 2010 she released her third album In Between the Now & Then on record label Signpost Music.[9][10] She is currently a worship leader at Bethel Church in Redding, California. She is also a part of Bethel's artist collective, Bethel Music, and appears on multiple Bethel Music albums. Cook released her fourth studio album Brave New World through Bethel Music on September 25, 2015.[11]

In an interview to Soul Shine Magazine, she said that she is musically influenced by Sarah McLachlan, Nicole Nordeman, Norah Jones, and John Mayer.[12]

At the 2016 GMA Dove Awards, Cook received the award for Inspirational Album of the Year, for Brave New World [13]
