The Amazonian black-breasted woodpecker (Celeus occidentalis) is a bird in the Picidae family. Formerly regarded as conspecific with the ringed woodpecker (Celeus torquatus), it is found in central and western Brazil, central and northern Bolivia, eastern Peru, eastern Ecuador, southeastern Colombia, southern Venezuela and south-western Guyana.[1]
