American Governor: Chris Christie's Bridge to Redemption is a political profile of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie by journalist Matt Katz published on January 19, 2016 by Simon & Schuster.[1][2][3][4]

In the book, Katz, a journalist who has covered Christie for The Philadelphia Inquirer, New Jersey Spotlight, WNYC, and New Jersey Public Radio,[5][6] discusses Christie's career phase by phase, including his position as United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey,[1] Christie's governorship, the Fort Lee lane closure scandal (aka Bridgegate) and his candidacy for the Republican nomination in the 2016 presidential election[7]

The Philadelphia Inquirer credits Katz with breaking the "usual" dense, dull style of political biography to deliver a book that "brims with jaw-dropping anecdotes of political intrigue, plotting and scheming the Jersey way, Christie tactics, and encounters with supporters, political enemies, bipartisan allies, and angry voters."[8]
