Aplasia (from Greek a (not, no); plasis (molding) is defined in general as "defective development or congenital absence of an organ or tissue."[1][2] In the field of hematology, the term refers to "incomplete, retarded, or defective development, or cessation of the usual regenerative process."[1][2]

- Germ cell aplasia, also known as Sertoli cell-only syndrome
- Radial aplasia
- Thymic aplasia, which is found in DiGeorge syndrome and also occurs naturally as part of the gradual loss of function of the immune system later in life
