Ash Sakula Architects are a small, award-winning architecture practice based in London, UK. They were founded in 1996.[1]
Ash Sakula was formed by architects Cany Ash and Robert Sakula. Ash previously worked for the GLC Architects Department, Burrell Foley Fischer and posts overseas. She is an external examiner for Cambridge University.[2] Robert Sakula graduated from Liverpool University before working for Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, David Lea and DEGW Architects.[3] The couple had been living together in central London since 1984.[4]
Key projects and awards
- Birdwing Conservatory, London (1997)[5] - the smallest project to ever win a Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Award.[3]
- Leicester Creative Business Depot, Leicester - RIBA East Midland Award winner, 2005.[6]
- Hothouse, Hackney, London - RIBA London Award[7] and Civic Trust Award,[8] 2009.
- Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff (2009) - RIBA Wales Award 2010.[9]
