Athena Coustenis
Athena Coustenis (born September 28, 1961) is a Greek astronomer.[1] She studies planetary science as the Director of Research at the French National Centre for Scientific Research.[1] She is also an astrophysicist for the Paris Observatory.[2] Coustenis also works with the European Space Agency and NASA. She studies Saturn and its moons and is considered a foremost expert on Titan.[3]
Early life and education
Born in Athens, Greece, she moved to France to obtain her Master's degree in astrophysics and space techniques in 1986 and her PhD in 1989.[1]
Awards and honors
The American Astronomical Society awarded Coustenis with the "Harold Masursky Award."[2]
