Atulya Shetty

Atulya Arya Shetty (born 1996) is an American chess FIDE Master from Michigan.[1][2] He was the United States Chess Federation K-12 national champion in 2013.[3] He was on the cover of the June 2013 Chess Life, the official magazine of the US Chess Federation. He was the US amateur team champion in 2012.[1] He has played youth chess championships in Greece and the Republic of Georgia.

His father Sharat Shetty, who develops software for Ford, played chess in India as a child.[4] Atulya Shetty started playing chess when he was four.[5] Atulya Shetty's current coach is Grandmaster Gregory Kaidanov, formerly of the Soviet Union who now lives in Kentucky.[6]
