The 2.8-kilometre Awana Skyway Generally, the system uses counterbalancing of the two cable cars, with one going up and one going down, minimising the energy needed to lift the cable car going up. As a result, the service is only available at lower frequency at every half an hour for the 10-minute journey.

The cable car uses a jig-back system: A large electric motor is located at the bottom of the tramway so that it effectively pulls one cabin down, using that cabin's weight to help pull the other cabin up. A similar system of cables is used in a funicular railway. The two passenger cabins are situated at opposite ends of the loops of cable. Thus, while one is coming up, the other is going down the mountain, and they pass each other midway on the cable span.

The cable car spans on five towers, connecting three stations at Awana Transport Hub, Chin Swee at mid level and First World Hotel. It has ceased its operations since 1 April 2014 to make way for the construction of an all-new cable car system due to reopen in 2016. There is no news in media on the construction since its closing of service to public. However, it may have a possibility of using gondola lift type, which is the same as Genting Skyway.
