BBC Studios is a division of the BBC launched in April 2016. It brings together the majority of BBC Television's in-house production departments; Comedy, Drama, Entertainment, Music & Events and Factual.[1] BBC News, Children's, Religion & Ethics and Sport departments remain separate divisions of the BBC. The division is headed by Mark Linsey.[2] BBC Studios was split from BBC Television in April 2016, with the intention of it becoming a wholly owned commercial subsidiary in April 2017.[3]
