Basement Jack is a 2009 American slasher horror film, which was written by Brian Patrick O'Toole and directed by Michael Shelton, it stars Billy Morrison, Tiffany Shepis and Lynn Lowry.[1]

Plot

A young couple, Steve and Sarah, are having sex in a car. They are stalked by a person wearing a mask and wielding a large knife. Steve and Sarah open the trunk of the car to reveal a tied-up boy named John. John was Sarah's opposition in a campaign for a scholarship. They stab him and throw him off a cliff. The killer then stabs Steve in the head and slits Sarah's throat. A few days later, John, Steve and Sarah's disappearances are reported to the police. The local high school becomes laden with rumors about what happened to them. John's ex-girlfriend Jill is especially despondent, and is comforted by her friends Candice and Abigail, while her rivals Sandy and Sally try to spread a rumor that the killer was Jill.

The killer, nicknamed "Basement Jack" due to a note he sent to the police, continues to mow through students at the high school. He beheads Dan, impales Valentine, stabs Damien, splits Evan's head, and electrocutes Sammy. Lyle is awarded the scholarship, but he and his boyfriend Jeremy are swiftly killed. Meanwhile, when Sally and her boyfriend Carl are having sex in the showers, Basement Jack switches the water for sulfuric acid, which melts away Sandy and Carl. Jock Stanley develops a crush on Jill, and his friends Kevin and Charlie encourage him to ask her out. Basement Jack later shoves Charlie into a mirror and stabs him with a piece of glass, beheads Kevin with a locker door and kills Sandy by mutilating her breasts.

Jill goes out to dinner with another jock, Tyler. Stanley confronts Tyler and the two fight, which ends with Tyler accidentally impaling Stanley on a hook. Jack then rips out Tyler's throat. Jill, Candice and Abigail find Stanley and rush him to the hospital. At basketball practice, Jill's teammates Joan, Emma and Amy make fun of her before their coach, Dara, breaks them up. After practice, Jack crushes Dara's head with basketballs. Tyler's best friends, Earl and Billy, threaten both Jill and Stanley. Jill and Candice do some research, and discover that Jack might have some relationship to Jill. One night, Jill gets a note from Abigail to meet her at school. However, when she arrives, she is knocked out.

Jill awakens in the school's basketball court. She sees Joan, Emma and Amy tied up in several traps. Jack tells her over the P.A. that there are three doors she can use to leave the gym. If she opens the first door, Joan will die, if she opens the second door, Emma will die, and if she opens the third door, Amy will die. She is then told that she cannot free any of them, and Jack tells her that he has Stanley and he will kill him in five minutes if Jill does not arrive. Jill is then forced to leave the gym without freeing any of the girls, and she opens the first door, causing Joan to be hanged. Shortly after, Principal Harry opens the second door, and Emma is crushed by the gym's retracting seats. Harry first tries to untie Amy, and then tries to neutralize the third door. However, he triggers the trap while trying to disarm it, and Amy is crushed by a basketball hoop.

Jill next comes across Earl, wrapped in barbed wire and dying. She decides to take the option of giving Earl a mercy kill, and presses a button which impales Earl with a spear. However, it is then revealed that a completely unharmed Billy was tied up back-to-back with Earl, and he too is killed by the spear. Jill then realizes that the killer and Stanley are tied up in the basement. She finds a note tied to the basement door which warns her that by pursuing love, she will forfeit her friends. Jill ignores the note and opens the basement door, but unknowingly triggers a trap. It is revealed that Candice and Abigail were tied to two boilers in the basement, and when Jill opens the door, the boilers begin spraying extremely hot steam onto Candice and Abigail, frying them both alive.

Jill finds Stanley tied to a chair, and Jack emerges from behind a wall, telling her that she is locked in and that the only key to escape is in Stanley's stomach. He also reveals that he used to be a student at the high school, but when he was raped by his ex-girlfriend Ashley, no one believed him, so he stabbed Ashley and her new boyfriend Paul to death and fled the town. Finally, he tells her that he is her long-lost father. Jill stabs Jack in the neck, but he stabs her repeatedly in the chest. Before he can kill her, Stanley frees himself and smashes the chair over Jack's head, seemingly killing him. However, Jack rises again, but Jill beats him with a pipe and then uses Jack's knife to cut off his head. Harry then opens the basement door, freeing Jill and Stanley, and they call the police.
