Univision (2007-2009)

From its inception in 2007, Escobar was the stylist for the groundbreaking beauty pageant and reality show, Nuestra Belleza Latina, produced by Univision. She was in charge of the wardrobe for the entire show, including the host-Giselle Blondet, judge-Lupita Jones, as well as all celebrity-guests, performers, and contestants.[1][2]

While head of the program’s wardrobe department, Escobar was able to invite world-renowned Latin designers to share their unique, and beautiful designs on a national platform. Among the many featured designers were, Ángel Sánchez (fashion designer), Gustavo Cadile, and Nicolas Felizola, as well as many others top designers who Escobar still has strong ties to.

Escobar left the show in 2009 to work as a consultant for the top fabric store in Miami, Rex Fabrics.[3] While there, Escobar was able to expand her expertise, focusing on designer fabrics, fashion fabrics, and other fine fabrics.

She also used this time to travel to some of South America's most important fashion events like Rio Fashion Week and São Paulo Fashion Week. There she was further able to expand her contacts with prominent designers, and learn about Brazil's unique fashion industry which focuses on sustainable clothing, jewelry, and accessories. She also traveled to her native Colombia, and made stops in Bolivia, to learn about the latest fashion trends in the growing South American market.

Telemundo (2012–Present)

In 2012, Escobar returned to television, working with the major Hispanic network Telemundo. Under their employment, Escobar has been the head of the wardrobe department for some of the network’s most important programming. This includes the Spanish language news programs, Noticiero Telemundo and Al Rojo Vivo (Telemundo), both featuring the Emmy award winning television journalist, María Celeste Arrarás.

Escobar has also worked in the entertainment sector of the network’s programming. Specifically, she has been in charge of the wardrobe for the entertainment shows, "Yo Soy El Artista" and “¡Qué Noche! con Angélica y Raúl” which featured the prominent hosts, Angélica Vale and Raúl González (host).

The network has even labeled her “their expert in shopping,” and has included her in various segments of popular programs, like the morning show, Un Nuevo Día where she has given advice on fashion, style, and the latest trends.[4]

Red Carpets and Award Shows

While working with Univision, Escobar was the fashion stylist for many of the award-shows' presenters, along with some of the musical talents.

Under Telemundo, Escobar has also styled various presenters in the network’s award shows, many of whom have been picked to be in the "best-dressed" list of several magazines.

Independently, Escobar has also closely worked, or given advice, to various celebrities when it comes to red carpet events. Some of her clients include Catherine Siachoque and Mónica Noguera.

It was through magazines that Escobar began her long-career in the fashion industry. Since 2006, Escobar has been the fashion stylist for various magazine covers and centerfolds including those of, Ocean Drive, Cosmopolitan, and People en Español, among others.

According to Escobar, "Styling is generating an image where everything is synergetic, this includes the clothing, hair, and make-up, all of which contribute to the overall look. The job of the stylist is then to find the correct aesthetic formula where a client can reach perfection in all of these facets." Her clients have included, Sonya Smith, Adriana Fonseca, Marlene Favela, Fanny Lu, and Jacqueline Bracamontes.

She has written several times for TVyNovelas, within their monthly fashion column “Menos Es Mas,” which gives the readers a chance to buy outfits similar to those worn by celebrities, but at a cheaper cost.[6]

Escobar has also written inserts for print advertising that have been published in nationwide magazines. Clients for these inserts have included worldwide brands like Mary Kay, who sought her expertise because of her "stylist to the stars" reputation.
