Behzod Abduraimov

Behzod Abduraimov (born 11 October 1990 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan) is an Uzbek pianist. He was the grand prize winner of the 2009 London International Piano Competition.[1]

Abduraimov began to play the piano at the age of six. He studied at the Uspensky State Central Lyceum in Tashkent under Tamara Popovich. Since 2007, Abduraimov is studying at the International Center for Music at Park University, Kansas City studying with professor Stanislav Ioudenitch. After winning the London International Piano competition at the age of 18, he has been playing numerous recitals and orchestra engagements worldwide.

In 2012 he released his debut album, a recording of Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Sonata No. 6 and other works by Prokofiev, Liszt and Saint-Saens. His second album came in 2014, a recording of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 and Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI conducted by Juraj Valcuha. Both recordings were on the Decca label.
