Belonion dibranchodon is one of two needlefish, in the genus Belonion, which is in the family Belonidae. It is in the order Beloniformes.
Information
It is native to South America within the Atabapo and Negro River basins.[2] They can be found in freshwater environments within a benthopelagic range. They live within a tropical climate. The Belonion dibranchodon can reach the average length of about 4.8 centimeters or 1.8 inches as an unsexed male. This species is recorded to be oviparous, and this means that they produce their young by means of eggs that are hatched after they have been laid by the parent.[3]The eggs can be found on objects within the water by tendrils on the surface of the egg. [4]
