Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation or BMC is the local governing body responsible for the civic infrastructure and administration of Bidhannagar (a planned satellite town of Kolkata) and adjoining areas like Kestopur, Baguiati, Teghoria, Narayanpur, Chinar Park Area, and parts of NSCBI Airport. BMC was constituted on 18th June 2015, after merging erstwhile Bidhannagar Municipality, Rajarhat-Gopalpur Municipality and Mahisbathan II Gram Panchayat.

It was headed by Administrator Shri Pawan Kadyan, IAS till elections were held in October 2015 after delimitation into 41 wards and constitution of its first Board of Councillors headed by Mayor Shri Sabyasachi Dutta with Shri Pawan Kadyan, IAS transitioning into the role of Municipal Commissioner. [1] BMC constitutes of 41 wards. The Corporation is under administrative jurisdiction of Bidhannagar subdivision in the district of North 24 Parganas and police jurisdiction of Bidhannagar City Police.
