Bijou Thaangjam (born Thangjam Biju Singh) is an Indian actor, lyricist, art director and chef[1][2][3][4][5] originally from Imphal, Manipur. He was one of the contestant on the reality cooking competition MasterChef India 2. He is known for his role in the film Mary Kom.[6]

Early life

Thaangjam was born the eldest of three children in Imphal, Manipur, India to Meitei parents. He did his schooling from Tiny Tots Unique School Imphal and then graduated from Bangalore University in 2007. He is a self-taught actor and chef. He participated in a number of reality TV shows including MasterChef India 2 and UTV Stars Superstar Santa. Thaangjam then moved to Mumbai in 2012 to further his career in the entertainment industry.

Masterchef India

Bijou Thaangjam competed on the Star Plus reality cooking competition, Masterchef India. He was one of the Top 50 contestants of Masterchef India 2011.[7][8]

Career

Bijou Thaangjam first appeared as a contestant on the reality cooking competition MasterChef India 2. He later debuted as supporting character in Omung Kumar's Mary Kom (film) (2014) starring Priyanka Chopra as Mary Kom.

He is playing the role 'Kancha' in Shivaay (2016)[9] which is an upcoming Hindi film directed and produced by Ajay Devgan

He has since finished work on one more feature film, Robinhood Ke Pote[10] which is due for commercial release in India in late 2016.
