Biswabijoy Sen is a singer/songwriter of indie pop from Kolkata, born in Silchar, Assam. Currently based in Mumbai, his songs are mostly in Hindi and have strong elements of the blues and blues rock genres.

Early Days

Biswabijoy formed a Hindi pop band Kollage in 2001 and performed with them till 2011. Kollage did live shows across India where they performed their original work, written and composed by Biswabijoy; as well as some popular Hindi and Bengali covers.

He has also collaborated (composition and vocals) with Australian alternative band "The Frozen Orchid" for an album (of original Hindi songs) named Maya.

Going Solo

On 3 December 2013, Biswabijoy released his first single named "Baarish".[1] The record was produced by Varun Murali (lead guitarist with Bangalore-based folk rock band Swarathma). He followed it up with "Sukoon", his second single, which released on 21 June 2014.[2]

Biswabijoy has been a prolific quizmaster conducting quizzes all over India under the banner "Adverb".

He has hosted quizzes at various prestigious institutes like MNNIT Allahabad (Gnosiomania 2006 to 2008),[3] IIT Kharagpur, VJTI Mumbai, COEP Pune, NIT Durgapur,[4] IIM Ranchi,[4] NIT Surat,[4][5] He has hosted a number of corporate quizzes in Kolkata. Biswabijoy also hosts two quizzes "Love All" (Sports Quiz)[6][7][8] and "Showbiz" (Movie Quiz)[7][9] which are organized by Adverb and are a part of Kolkata's annual quizzing calendar.

Biswabijoy is also an active quizzer and has been a Nation Champion at TATA Crucible, 2006[10] [11][12] and a part of the winning team at the DI Open (2009), one of the most prestigious open quizzes in the country. He also won the annual Ad Club Quiz (2001) Kolkata Round Table Quiz (2006), CRY Quiz (Kolkata, 2006), REACT Business Quiz (Kolkata 2006-2007) and HDFC Iquation (Kolkata, 2010). Most of these wins have been while representing his employers, TATA Consultancy Services.
