List of The Batman episodes
The following is an episode list for the Kids' WB animated television series The Batman, starring the titular character. The series premiered on September 11, 2004, and ended on March 8, 2008,[1] with a total of 65 episodes being produced and aired over the series' three-and-a-half year run; each series comprised 13 episodes.
The first five seasons are available on DVD. A Direct-To-DVD movie titled The Batman vs. Dracula, based on the series, was released in on October 18, 2005 and made its television debut on Cartoon Network's Toonami block on October 22, 2005. There is also a spin-off comic book series, The Batman Strikes!, published by DC Comics which is set in the same continuity and style of The Batman.

Season one aired between September 2004 and May 2005. These episodes were released on The Complete First Season DVD in February 2006.

Chief of Police, Angel Rojas, assigns Detective Ethan Bennett with a new partner, Ellen Yin, and tasks the pair to capture Batman, after he publicly acknowledges his existence. Soon afterwards, a break-out of inmates at Arkham Asylum leads Batman to discovering that the culprit is a crazed clown criminal calling himself Joker, who has a gas that cause victims to be left paralysed and with a fixed, yellow-teeth smile on their faces. Batman quickly discovers that Joker plans to use the gas on Gotham City and attempts to stop him, with Yin and Bennett eager to do the same. While pursuing Batman, Yin and Bennett find themselves drawn to Wayne Industries by a flock of bats. The pair quickly learn that they are connected to a project being worked upon by a scientist named Dr. Langstrom, who claims to Bruce that his work is to help cure those who are deaf. In reality, Langstrom, obsessed with the Batman, is actually developing a serum to make himself into a giant beast called "Man-Bat" that needs to feed on animal blood. Batman discovers that a recent theft of jewels from a yacht in Gotham Bay was the work of a criminal with ice powers named Mr. Freeze, who is dependent on a cryogenic suit to survive. To his horror, Batman discovers that he was once an ordinary thief named Victor Fries that he had chased before, who fell into a cryogenic chamber during the pursuit, and was mutated as the result of a freak accident when the chamber cryogenically froze him at the same time that he was being electrocuted. Realising that Freeze's powers will allow him to take over Gotham, Batman finds himself trying to find a way to stop him. | ||||||

Bruce finds out from a meeting with Gotham's mayor, Marion Grange, that the contract for work on the children's hospital is likely to go to GothCorp instead of Wayne Enterprises, despite his father's charity work. At the same time, a spate of break-ins at tech firms leads Batman to meeting Firefly, a criminal who uses flame-based weaponry, a heavily armoured suit, a potently enhanced jetpack, to carry out his crimes. When Bruce fails to sway the city council to not go with GothCorp, owing to their dubious background, he soon discovers they may be connected to the break-ins and soon lays a trap to catch Firefly. | ||||||

When two people are abducted in separate public events on the same day, shortly after each were publicly humiliated, Batman learns that the connection between the victims is a former children's quiz show called "Think Thank Thunk", and that the culprit is Arthur Brown, a child prodigy and former contestant, who seeks revenge against those who humiliated him on the show and now calls himself the Cluemaster. When Brown abducts the contestant who beat him on the show, Batman finds himself racing to save them before Brown dips them in acid. | ||||||

Penguin, angered at being unable to recover his family's fortunes thanks to Batman, decides to get back at Bruce Wayne's luck by breaking into his mansion and stealing everything valuable there, while he is being made the subject of a television magazine show's segment, "Day in the Life". When Alfred is taken hostage during the heist, Bruce finds himself needing to the cameras and become Batman in order to stop Penguin, although the show's film crew is eager to capture the moment on camera. | ||||||

Joker returns to Gotham with new henchmen, and commits crimes through the use of a new invention called Joker putty, a chemical compound that morphs anything and everything into either springy rubber or putty. Meanwhile, Rojas implements a zero-tolerance policy on freaks, and instructs his detectives to arrest both Joker and Batman, but matters take a turn for the worse, when Ethan is captured by Joker. | ||||||

Season 2: 2005
Season 2 ran on Kids' WB from May until September 2005, with a direct to video movie released on DVD in October 2005. The Complete Second Season (without the movie) was released on DVD in September 2006.

People in Gotham become worried when Joker decides to become the "Batman" and go after anyone, no matter who they are or what crime he perceives they have done. Seeking to have an arch-rival, Joker soon targets Batman and injects him with a new concoction of his gas called Joker Venom. With the venom soon beginning to affect him and placing his life in danger, Batman must recover the venom in order to create an antidote before planning to take down Joker, who soon collides with the Penguin when the latter commits a bank heist. Note: This episode features a reference to Superman with a scene in which Joker, wearing glasses and a coat with slicked back hair, witnesses his version of the Batwave go off and proclaims, "This looks like a job for Batman", a take on the trademark line. | ||||||

A spate of minor thefts near the city's canals and Gotham Bay, leads Batman to encountering Killer Croc, a large, anthromorphic crocodile-man who recently arrived in Gotham. It becomes clear through what he stole that Croc plans to flood the city's districts that lie below sea level with the use of the city's water pumps, in order to plunder them, no matter how many lives could be lost with his plan. Batman finds himself forced to contront the crook before he can achieve his goal. | ||||||

Batman is mystified as to why Penguin stole a sonic device that controls bats, unaware that he wanted a sonic device to give him control of a large, rare bird. For Penguin, he gets more than he bargains for when the device he stole brings him Man-Bat who he soon discovers is under his control. As Batman deals with the two criminals, Alfred finds himself dealing with a nuisance when a raccoon gets into the Bat-Cave, which soon causes problems. | ||||||

Bennett is delighted to be released on probation and given a job at Wayne Enterprises, but things go downhill when he tries to go after Joker and finds himself unable to resist the temptation of the criminal lifestyle. | ||||||

Joker takes over the airwaves of Gotham with an unlicensed TV channel, in order to broadcast his crimes to the people of the city. After Mayor Grange is captured to be his first "co-star", Yin's overzealous new partner, Detective Cash Tankinson, becomes his next target. Batman soon finds himself trying to track the hostages down and rescue them, but quickly discovers that Joker's TV signal is part of a much bigger plan that threatens the city, as his next broadcast will activate several Joker's Gas dispensers scattered across the city and release their contents upon the unsuspecting city, unless he can shut the signal down. | ||||||

Eager to beat him, Batman decides to lay a trap to lure both him and Catwoman, with the bait being some priceless gems a gangster hid in one of the Wayne family's properties - a clock tower. | ||||||

Alfred finds that a dream he had was all too real when he and Bruce discover that he stole a Ming vase from the mansion. It becomes clear that Spellbinder has his eyes set on the valuable Eye of Sarkana, but Alfred quickly discovers that it won't be stolen by the butlers, but by their masters, which presents problems for Bruce's alter ego. | ||||||

Yin finds herself a hostage to Joker, who refuses to give up her location when captured, claiming she will go out with a big "pop" unless he is released. Seeking to find out where she is, Dr. Hugo Strange opts to use a device created by Wayne Enterprises to find the answers, but Batman believes he stands a better chance, and uses the prototype of the device to enter Joker's mind. But he soon finds it a dangerous place to be in, and that he could go mad if he is not careful. | ||||||

As a way to settle a dispute over who will claim Gotham, Joker, Penguin and Riddler have a contest to see who can capture Batman and discover his true identity. While Batman prepares to stop all three, his ally in the police force is compromised when Rojas discovers that Yin has been helping him. Soon she and Batman find themselves trying to stay ahead of the police while apprehending the three criminals, though help may be on hand in the form of Police Commissioner James Gordon, who believes that only Batman can stop Joker, Penguin and Riddler from bringing mayhem on Gotham's streets. |
Season 3: 2005–06
Season 3 aired from September 2005 through to May 2006, and featured a brand new intro and musical theme; it was the last series to feature on The WB before it became The CW. The Complete Third Season was released on DVD in April 2007.

In the first part, Barbara recalls how she and her friend, Pamela Isley, led protests against corporations for environmental damage they caused, much to her father's displeasure. Unbeknown to her or Batman, Pamela is the brains behind a string of attacks against these corporations with a powerful new super-villain named Temblor. But she soon gets more than she bargains for when Temblor begins wondering why he has not be paid for his work as promised, placing her and Barbara in extreme danger. | ||||||

Batman is initially suspicious of this, but gives Arnold the benefit of the doubt, unaware that Strange plans to reunite him with his former puppet, which soon brings trouble. | ||||||

With his new found strength, Joker's latest crime spree seems unstoppable, especially when Batgirl accidentally causes Batman to be captured when she borrow his power suit. To rescue him, Batgirl discovers that she must overcome her own limitations in order to master control of the suit as well as stop Joker. | ||||||

Catwoman seems to be the suspect in the theft of a rare Black Siberian Leopard, but it soon turns out that Joker is behind the theft when Batman and Batgirl investigate and attempt to protect a second leopard of the same breed, unaware that Catwoman is interested in the matter. When all three discover that the cats were stolen for Killgore Steed, the owner of a several dangerous creatures, no-one anticipates Joker double crossing him and using his personal maze and creatures to put an end to Batman, Batgirl and Catwoman. | ||||||

Cosmo Krank seemed an ingenious toymaker, but all of his creations were dangerous for kids to use, leading to Bruce and Wayne Industries shutting his company down. However, Bruce soon finds himself the target of the toymaker, who seeks revenge by killing him with newer, diabolical versions of his toys. Knowing that Batman must bring him down, things are not so easy when Commissioner Gordon assigns Detective Cash to be Bruce's bodyguard until the demented villain is arrested, forcing Bruce to find a way to ditch Cash in order to become the Batman and stop Cosmo. | ||||||

Using a giant aircraft called New Olympus that is equipped with a powerful weapon and manned by his personal security force of "Gladiators", he soon threatens the city leaving Batman to stop him. But he soon discovers that Batgirl is far more resourceful, as she finally proves that she deserves to be his sidekick. | ||||||

Alfred is surprised when an old school friend of his turns up in Gotham and invites his friend on a treasure hunt. A new villain emerges in the form of D.A.V.E. (Digitally Advanced Villain Emulator), an AI database created by Hugo Strange that is encoded with the minds of Gotham's greatest criminals and breaks free to commit crimes. Batman finds himself trying to stop D.A.V.E., when the AI proclaims itself as the ultimate criminal and plans to reveal to Gotham the true identity of Batman, unaware that things are not what they seem to be. Note: The character of D.A.V.E. is based on H.A.R.D.A.C., another artificially intelligent villain that was created for Batman: The Animated Series. Both characters are voiced by Jeff Bennett. |
Season 4: 2006–07
Season 4 aired from September 2006 through to May 2007, and featured a new intro sequence. The Complete Fourth Season was released on DVD in November 2007.

Movie
The 2005 direct-to-video feature film The Batman vs. Dracula was released after four episodes of the third season had aired. An intended sequel based on Batman: Hush was in pre-production before the project was cancelled. The movie was released to DVD on October 18, 2005 and made its television debut on Cartoon Network's Toonami block on October 22, 2005. It was released on DVD as a tie-in with the live-action Batman Begins.
