Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting
The Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting is a British national competition for playwriting, the largest of its kind in Europe. The prize was instituted in 2006, and is limited to scripts that are original and unperformed.[1] The award is a joint venture between the property company Bruntwood and the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. Since its inception, more than 7000 scripts have been submitted. There have been 15 prizewinners, with combined prize money of £160,000, and eight winning productions have been staged till date.
