Bugula plumosa, sometimes known by the common name tree moss animal, is a genus of common colonial arborescent bryozoan, found at a depth of 15 to 20 meters.

Distribution

Bugula plumosa is found in the North Atlantic Ocean, mainly around the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, northern France, Germany and Denmark.

Description

Bugula plumosa is orangey-red and forms feathery-shaped colonies.

Ecology

Bugula plumosa is hermaphroditic and egg brooding may be done either internally or externally.
