Burlington Town Center, formerly Burlington Square Mall, is an enclosed shopping mall in Burlington, Vermont. Located on the Church Street Marketplace open-air mall, it opened in 1976. The mall's anchor stores are Macy's and L. L. Bean. It includes the only locations in Vermont for J. Crew, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and White House Black Market.[1]
History
The mall opened in 1976 as Burlington Square Mall.[2] Its original anchor store was a Porteous department store, which later went out of business.[3] An expansion in 1999 added the only Filene's (now Macy's) in Vermont.[4][5]
General Growth Properties put the mall up for sale in 2013.[2] In 2014, L. L. Bean announced that it would be opening a store in the mall.[6]
