CEPTETEB is a digital banking platform of Türk Ekonomi Bankası (TEB). It has released in September 25, 2008 as a mobile application which allows users to carry out their mobile banking procedures and was renewed in March 2015, and by starting to serve with Internet branch, mobil application, TEB ATM's and support center it became the digital banking platform of TEB. Currently CEPTETEB, allows users to create a bank account, buying and selling of stock certificate, investment fund and currency, money transfer, paying bills and taxes, loading Turkish lira recharge, paying bank and credit debts, making contactless payment via CEPTETEB Credit Card or Mobile Wallet feature of CEPTETEB application, without demanding any process fee. Because of the money savings that comes from lackness of branch expenses, several special offers between CEPTETEB and various companies and organisations are available for costumers.

History

Mobile application era (2008-2015)

Mobile banking services of Türk Ekonomi Bankası (TEB) are collected under the name of CEPTETEB and released as a iOS compatible mobile application in Turkey in September 25, 2008.[1] With the application, TEB became the first bank that develops an iPhone compatible mobile banking applicaton in the country.[1][2] It introduced during CeBIT Bilişim Eurasia on October 2008.[3] On July 2008, the project has been awarded by two gold medals in BNP Paribas Innovation Awards, one in "Process Performance" category and the other one in "Product and Services" category.[4] In 2009, the application was extended and became available for buying and selling of stock certificate, investment fund and currency.[5] In 2010, an expansion called Cep PratikŞifre which allows users to generate a single use password to access their CEPTETEB accounts.[6] An Android compatible version of the application was released in 2011.[7] Another expansion has been made in October 2012 and withdrawing from ATM's without a credit card through the use of QR code, entering personal identification number by drawing and following market datas and other related activities lively were became available.[8][9] Developed by Pozitron, Google Glass compatible version of the application was announced on November 2013;[10] while Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear 2 Neo compatible versions were realsed after the announcement on April 2014.[11][12] In 2014, iBeacon was integrated to the app and that allowed to inform any user about current special offers with instant notifications, who passes near a store that has a collaboration with iBeacon.[12] By releasing of another expansion in the same year, paying with using QR code on online shopping was became available.[13]

Digital banking platform era (2015-present)

An update that was announced on January 2015 and was released at the end of March, CEPTeTEB was transformed into digital banking platform of TEB.[14] After this renovation, CEPTETEB exclusive bank cards and credit cards were released and it's been announced that first 50 thousand members of CEPTETEB were going to take them for free.[15] CEPTETEB Consumer Loan and CEPTETEB Account were introduced which allows customers to make a loan application via mobile phones, and creating an online bank account without paying any charge, respectively.[16][17] On March 2015, it's been announced that Apple Watch compatible application will be released.[18] At the same year, contactless payment was became available for CEPTETEB Credit Card and Mobile Wallet feature of CEPTETEB mobile application.[19] Cooperations with Yemeksepeti.com,[20] Markafoni,[21] İstanbul Deniz Otobüsleri[22] and TAV,[23] CEPTETEB has several special offers for its customers. By the end of 2015, CEPTETEB has more than 250 thousand customers.[24]
