CHCM is an AM radio station located on Ville Marie Dr, Marystown, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, broadcasting at 740 AM. Owned by Newcap Inc., CHCM first went on the air in 1962. It is an affiliate of VOCM. CHCM was originally broadcast at 560 AM before moving to 740 in 1990 where it remains to this day.[1]

Annual events
Happy Tree:
Every year for Christmas, CHCM along with the sponsors open up The Happy Tree in Marystown and Placentia. The idea is for people to drop off gifts for a boy or a girl for the those who may not be able to offer gifts over the holidays.
Dial a Carol:
Dial a Carol takes place every year to support the happy tree project. Listeners call in and give a pledge and in return can hear the Christmas song they want to hear.
The 2009 Dial a Carol in a total of 9,101 in pledges.
The 2008 Dial A Carol took in total of just over $4000.
The 2007 Dial a Carol took in a total of $3800.
The 2006 dial a carol took in a total $6,041.
Mother's Day Special:
The Sunday that Mothers' Day falls on announcers and staff of CHCM spend the afternoon on air, with music about moms, as well as taking and announcing special greetings from the listeners to mom.
Fathers Day Special:
The Sunday that Fathers' Day falls on announcers and staff of CHCM spend the afternoon on air, with music about dads, as well as taking and announcing special greetings from the listeners to dad.
Kin and Friends Radiothon:
This is the most recent annual event. The first annual radiothon was held on June 24, 2007. This is to replace any other radiothon, for the B.P.H.C.C. It will be held every year, in the early part of summer.
Summer Roadshow:
Every summer the CHCM Mobile Cruiser goes around the Burin Peninsula and surrounding areas to different events with prizes and give-aways.
Contests
CHCM Christmas Turkey Show
Each year, CHCM runs the Turkey Show where listeners send in letters trying to guess the sponsor of the day. The Listener who picks the right one, wins a free turkey for Christmas.
