Carlos Javier Sobera Pardo (born 11 August 1960 in Barakaldo, Spain) is a Spanish actor, television presenter and ex-cathedratic.[1]
Biography
Sobera has a law degree from the University of Deusto. Also was teacher of Civil Law at the University of the Basque Country, from 1987 to 1997. His first contact with the world of theater was in 1980 when he created, in his native Bilbao, a group called La Espuela. The group was active until 1986 and at that time represented La dama de alba of Alejandro Casona, Viva el Duque nuestro dueño of Alonso de Santos Balada de los tres inocentes of Pedro Mario Herrero.
In 1994 he began working for the Basque regional TV (Euskal Telebista) being the screenwriter of Boulevard, program presented by Anne Igartiburu. In 1995 he was one of the creators of the contest program Los jueves, mudanza, issued by TVG. He debuted as a presenter in Euskal Telebista being presenter of the monthly program Ciudadanos and then of the daily space Arde la tarde.
In 1996 arrives his film debut when stars, with Imanol Arias the film Rigor Mortis of Koldo Azkarreta. In 1997 he jumped to national television, presenting weekly the program PC Adictos in La 2 However, his popularity would root of its intervention in the TV series Al salir de clase and in Quítate tú para ponerme yo, both of Telecinco.
Since then he became of one of the most popular TV presenters in Spain, hosting shows as the Spanish version of Who wants to be a millionaire? and currently hosts Atrapa un millón, the Spanish version of The Million Pound Drop Live in Antena 3.[2]
