Carlos Vargas Franco Jr. known professionally as Carlos Vargas a.k.a. CirCharles is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and male lead singer of bachata duo Carlos & Alejandra.

Biography

Vargas was born on October 16, 1984 in The Bronx, New York City. He is of Dominican descent. Vargas was offered to join bachata group Aventura but refused the offer. Vargas made his big break in bachata sensation Carlos & Alejandra with hits such as "Cafecito" "Cuanto Duele" "Devuelveme La Navidad (feat. Xtreme) "Melodia de Amor (feat. Lenny Santos)" "Karma" among others.

Carlos & Alejandra

Carlos y Alejandra are a bachata duo from the United States who made their full-length album debut with La Introduccion in 2009. The duo comprises Carlos Vargas Franco, Jr. and Bianca Alejandra Felíz. Machete Music released Carlos y Alejandra's first disc, which spawned the hit singles "Explícame," "Cuanto Duele," and "Cafecito." After winning a Premios lo Nuestro award, their debut album was re-released with three new songs as La Introduccíon: Continued in 2010.

Solo career

Vargas is still working with Alejandra in the duo, but they have both chosen to focus more on their solo careers for now. Vargas new EP, titled "Alter-Ego" was released September 8, 2016. "Empeñaria Mi Vida" has maintained Top 10 in the Latin Billboard, peaking at Top 7. Vargas is currently working on the music video for Empeñaria Mi Vida in collaboration with Bachata Heightz and Toby Love.
