Chango is an electronic dance music duo from Mexico which performs in the New York subway wearing Lucha Libre masks.

History

Formed by Tony Bojorquez and Javier Barquet. This duo plays the Electronic Drumpad and their frontman, and who programs the sequences. Originally from Mexico, they moved to New York in 2010 working in several music projects ever since.[1]

Like other buskers, "Chango" is an eclectic band, breaking with established schemes regarding street performances; thus representing some mix of cultures and what it represents living in a foreign country. An example of this was when they participated in a protest against Donald Trump, beating up a "piñata" resembling the controversial candidate for the Republican presidential nomination.[2]
