Charonia maculosum is a "taxon inquirenda", a species of doubtful identity. if this taxon is eventually accepted as valid it will be as a species of predatory sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Ranellidae, the triton snails, triton shells or tritons.[1]
