Chester Chou (Chinese: 周萬來; pinyin: Zhōu Wànlái) is a politician in the Republic of China. He was the Deputy Secretary-General of Legislative Yuan.[1]
Early life
Chou was born in Dalin Township, Chiayi County on 12 October 1951. He came from a blue collar background family in which his father used to work as a technician at the Dalin Sugar Refinery. Chou was enrolled to junior high school and senior high school of Chiayi County High School. He did his bachelor's and master's degrees in political science from National Taiwan University in 1974 and 1976 respectively.[2]
Early career
Chou started to work for Legislative Yuan on 5 July 1976. He spent years in parliamentary affairs department, serving under five premiers and seven secretary-generals. In 1989, he was promoted to be the Chief of Parliamentary Affairs section. In 1999, the section was upgraded to Parliamentary Affairs office and he was promoted to become the director and consultant.[3]
