Chestnut Log Middle School is a public middle school in Douglasville, Georgia, United States.It is known for being very diverse in ethnicity and performance in academics and athletics.It is part of the Douglas County School District
History
Chestnut Log was opened for the 1987-1988 school year.[1] In 2013 the school was revenovated with improvements to the school.That same year,an anonymous source claimed to have planted a bomb on the school campus.The school was evacuated and the Douglas County Sheriff's office was called in to investigate.No bomb was found and everyone returned to class.As of today knowone knows who was responsible for the message.

Sports
The Softball and Football teams are the very first sports teams to start in a school year.They run from August to October.Softball is usally played at Lithia Springs park,while football is played at one of the local high schools.Basketball season starts in October and goes all the way to February.It is the longest season in the athletic season.It is divided into the boys and girls teams.Soccer season starts in late February and goes to April.Football,basketball,and soccer all have 6th,7th,and 8th grade teams.the last sport of the year is track and field which has only one game.[3]
Connections
Connections are the breaks between classes when students get to go to their respective PE,music,art,foreign language,or Carrer awareness classes.students have only 2 connections classes per 9 weeks and get 2 new classes every term.The periods for each grade level are as follows
- 6th grade-6 and 7th
- 7th grade-3 and 5th
- 8th grade-1 and 2nd
