Chewing Gum is a British television sitcom series set in London. It debuted on E4 on 13 October 2015. It was written by and stars Michaela Coel, Robert Lonsdale, Susan Wokoma, Danielle Walters and Tanya Franks. The show features 24-year-old shop assistant Tracey Gordon, a restricted, religious virgin, who wants to have sex and learn more about the world. Series one premiered on 6 October 2015 until 10 November 2015. On 3 December E4 ordered a second series for 2016. Chewing Gum was also nominated for the Best Scripted Comedy award at the 2016 television BAFTAs.

In hope of not becoming her uptight older sister, Cynthia, Tracey tries to move her and her fiancé Ronald's relationship to the next level. Getting a makeover themed to her inspiration Beyoncé by her best friend Candice, she goes on a venture to grasp his attention but when street poet Connor catches hers she is mixed with her emotions especially when he turns up at a party Tracey is attending.

Connor is her goal now. Tracey wants to bin Ronald to fulfil her relationship needs. Tracey soon runs into Connor's mum, Mandy, and is given some off-putting information about his history in romance. But once she visits Ronald, who is resting from a car accident, she is shown the light when the nurse aiding him better is all he can think about.

Tracey is kicked out by her mum and is left to move into Candice's house but is soon driving her crazy. Connor finally gets a job in hope that Tracey will eventually move in with him. It's also the wedding day of Cynthia and Ronald; Tracey must figure out a way to expose Ronald's homosexual feelings and stop her sister from making a terrible mistake.
