Chthonerpeton viviparum is a species of amphibians in the Typhlonectidae family, endemic to Brazil. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, rivers, intermittent rivers, swamps, freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, pastureland, irrigated land, seasonally flooded agricultural land, and canals and ditches.
