Charles Walfred Lofgren (born January 29, 1986 in Redwood City, California) is a minor league baseball starting pitcher who is currently a free agent.

Career

He attended Junípero Serra High School in San Mateo, California from autumn 2000 to spring 2004. Lofgren was drafted in the fourth round of the 2004 amateur draft by the Cleveland Indians. He played in their minor league system from 2004 to 2009. He started in the Carolina League All-Star Game in 2006.[1] In 2007, he represented the Indians in the All-Star Futures Game.[2]

He was then drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the major league phase of the 2009 Rule 5 draft and began the 2010 season with the Triple-A Nashville Sounds. He filed for free agency after the 2010 season and signed with the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies in hopes of making the San Francisco Giants.

In 2011 he joined the Giants High-A affiliate team the San Jose Giants and received a mid-season call up to the Triple-A team Fresno Grizzlies. Flirting with the possibility of reaching the MLB as a hitter, Lofgren resigned from the Giants in September. He then signed on with the Independent league baseball Amarillo Sox for the rest of the season.[3]

In 2012 he joined the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League.[4]

He most recently played for the San Rafael Pacifics of the Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs in 2014.
