The College of Vocational Studies (CVS), Delhi is a constituent college of University of Delhi.[1] It is a co-educational college, founded in 1972, with emphasis on vocational education to bridge the gap between traditional university education, though courses in French, German and Spanish languages, Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism and Post Graduate Diploma in Book Publishing. The college offers B.A. (Vocational Studies) in 7 fields: Management and Marketing of Insurance (MMI), Marketing Management and Retail Business (MMRB), Tourism Management, Office Management and Secretarial Practice (OMSP), Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), Human Resource Management (HRM) and Material Management (MM). Besides offering regular Honours Courses like B.Com (Hons.), B.A. (Hons.) Economics, B.A. (Hons.) History, B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics, B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science, B.A. (Hons.) English. [2]

The college is situated in the heart of Delhi at Sheikh Sarai-II. Nearest Metro Station is Malviya Nagar.[3] It is very close to Select Citywalk , the beloved mall of Delhites.

Admissions

The admission process for B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics,course is different from the regular cut-offs based on Class XII results, as followed in other colleges of the University. The Faculty of Applied Social Sciences,[4] undertakes the responsibility for admissions in the course B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics,. Selection criteria for prospective students consist of (weightage in admission decisions given in brackets)
1. An objective written test, the Joint Admission Test (JAT) - includes a wide variety of questions on Verbal skills, Quantitative skills, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Business and General Knowledge.(85% weight age)
2. Group discussion and Personal Interview.(15% weight age)

Earlier, It used to be
1. An objective written test, the Joint Admission Test (JAT) - includes a wide variety of questions on Verbal skills, Quantitative skills, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Business and General Knowledge.(50%weight age)
2. Performance in Class XII Examination (English, Mathematics are compulsory subjects).(50%weight age)

The admission to the B.Com (Hons.), B.A. (Hons.) Economics, B.A. (Hons.) History, B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science, B.A. (Vocational Studies) in 7 fields: Management and Marketing of Insurance (MMI), Marketing Management and Retail Business (MMRB), Tourism Management, Office Management and Secretarial Practice (OMSP), Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), Human Resource Management (HRM) and Material Management (MM) programmes is done solely on cut-offs based on Class XII performance [5]
