Cotton College State University is a public state university located in Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established by an Act(Act XIX of 2011) of the Assam Government in 2011. This Act received the assent of the Governor of Assam on 3 September 2011, and was notified via the Assam Gazette on 5 September 2011.
History
The university was set up in 2011, with the 114-year-old historic Cotton College as its constituent college.[1]
The election to the University's first Academic Council and University Court was held on 22 February 2013 with three and five members,respectively.[2]
Academics
Recently the university decided to have Archaeology course at its constituent Cotton College from next session.[3]
