Crescent is an Egyptian death metal band from Egypt, founded in 1999.[1] Crescent performed in numerous gigs and concerts in their home land – Egypt. such as El Sawy Culture Wheel, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Swiss Club, Azhar Park and many other small venues. Crescent went on the Metal Apocalypse Euro Tour in May 2014 sharing the stage with big international bands covering Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Netherlands and Belgium.

History

Founding and Early days and Demo (1999)

Crescent were found in 1999 in Cairo, Egypt.They started as a pure Black metal band, Inspired by Dissection and Swedish black-death metal then started gradually inclining towards the Egyptian Death metal using harmonic minor/Eastern sounding scales, going back to the roots to embrace the Egyptian Death metal sound. They released a demo in 1999 called Edgar Allan Poe's "Dreamland"

EP:The Retribution (2009)

Joined by Al sharif Marzeban as a Rhythm guitarist, he made the solo for their song Disciple Demise. that year they released the EP: The Retribution In 2010 Marzeban left the band.

Pyramid Slaves (2014) and Metal Apocalypse Euro tour

Before Pyramid Slaves, Crescent changed about 4 of Rhythm guitarists. They released Pyramid Slaves (2014) and announced being on the Metal Apocalypse Euro Tour

Wacken 2014 and New Rhythm guitarist (2015)

On the 30th of July,2014 Crescent won the local metal battle of the bands 2014 in Cairo, Ginnina Theater at Azhar Park and represented Egypt for the first time in Wacken’s 25th Anniversary, Crescent was be the first band from the middle east to participate in Wacken and to raise Egypt’s flag.battling against 30 other countries and reached the top 10![2] On the first day of 2015,They announced Youssef Saleh as the new Rhythm guitarist and on the 3rd of April, They took part of the Inferno Fest[3] in Norway sharing stage with bands like Behemoth, Septicflesh, My Dying Bride, Bloodbath , 1349, Enslaved and many more!.[4] They Co-Headlined Metal Blast Festival (Egypt)[5]
